(Clementine's Pov)
I looked over to AJ as he was looking out the window. I go over to him and take a seat next to him and look out the window myself. With the rain and snow mixing the ground was bound to freeze over. I suppose that AJ had thought the same thing as he made a comment on the rain.
"It's going to freeze over bad if it keeps raining." He says and I nod at this and look to him a bit.
"Yeah it'll be a problem for us, but if it's against us, it's with us... Walkers will be slow and possibly stuck frozen, and then we don't have to worry about other people either if they don't wonder out." I explain to him and he just keeps looking out the window. I then look to the side a bit and to the hall where Violet had gone to for bed.
"Are you feeling tired?" He asked and I look to him.
"No, not really."
"You're lying." He states and I sigh a bit and look to the window again.
"Maybe a little but you're still up, so if you're up I'm up." I tell him and he shoves me a little.
"You should go to bed." He tells me and I smile a little.
"What are you? My mother?" I asked as I look to him.
"No but you look tired." He says and I nod.
"Been tired for a lot of years AJ, but I'm use to it." I tell him as we both look out the window some more and I think about how I'm going to walk on the frozen ground for a bit.
"We should put spikes on your foot." He says and I smile a bit and look to him.
"You know they actually make boots like that... didn't think to grab any though, maybe we should get some on our way out." I talk a little more to myself than to him. Especially if Louis and Violet were going to head up north with this weather. I then look to see as the others were getting ready to head to bed. I pat AJ on the shoulder and he nods as he gets up and heads to his room and I look back to the window as the rain kept hitting it. I take a breath and lean back a bit before I go and check on the supplies and bags.
"We already checked everything." I hear and look to see Louis.
"Best to be safe than sorry." I tell him as I set one bag to the side. Making sure each bag had a map, a flashlight, some type of food, among other things. I then go and grab the jackets and set them on each bag too.
"You worry to much." Louis says and I look to him and he holds his hands up.
"Not that it's a bad thing just... you are." He says and I place my hands on my hips as I look to him.
"And do you know why?" I asked and he just looked to me and I roll my eye at this.
"Louis, I really shouldn't have to explain to you as to why I'm making sure everything is prepared, anything can happen at any moment, that's it." I tell him and I get back to work and once done and I was satisfied I nod and I look outside as thunder rolled in the distance.
"Seems like we might not be heading out." I hear Louis say quietly and I think for a bit. Yes if the storm continues till morning then we would have a problem, another issue would be if this whole thing turns into a blizzard. We can't afford to stay locked inside a building for who knows how long. But we also can't afford to freeze to death out there in the rain. The best option is to stay. I look to the fire in the fireplace and I go set another piece of wood onto the flames before I go and take a seat by the window once again.
"Look... I get it that you're... well you but we've lived through this before... I doubt you have-." He stopped as I glared at him and he looked down to the ground and I look to the window again.
