"Who is it" yelling towards the the door?!

I peeped out the peek hole and there were two officers standing there. I opened the door with suprised, i'm wondering why they were here.

"Hi ma'am are you the girlfriend of Carter Mayberry ?"

"Yes sir, why what's going on?"

"Well ma'am I'm sorry to inform you that he has been shot and is in critical condition at this point"

Tears came flowing as if it was raining from my eyes, my heart started to skip a beat, and now i was feeling weak. I took a huge deep breath and sat on my sofa. If i stood up any longer i probably would of passed out. How could this be?

"I'm so sorry to have to bring this horrible news to you, but in order to get to the bottom of this we have to ask some questions to catch these guys who did this"

"I can't handle this right now,i really cant"

"I know ma'am but we have put these guys behind bars"

"Ok make it quick"

"Did you know if mr Mayberry had a occupation with anyone?"

"No sir"

"Have he ever came home out the original from work ?"

No sir, that's all i can take i need to go see him,so if you don't mind I'm done answering questions."

"Ok ma'am we understand, just give us a call if you hear anything or find out something. Try not to stress yourself out ma'am"

One of the officers handed me the card and walked out the door. I grabbed my keys and purse and ranned out the door.. All i had on my mind was how i kept telling him no he couldnt come in the house, and now my baby was in critical condition. I dialed every hosptial i knew that was close to see which hopsiptal he was located at! I called Carter's mom, which she was living in Florida.

"Hii mz. Mayberry, i'm calling to inform you about Carter he's been shot in the chest and is in critical condition" I started crying i was really tryng to sound calm but couldn't.

"O my lord, my baby, our baby no no kyria do not stress over this ill be down tonight! Have you seen him yet?

"I'm on my way to see him now"

"You call me and let me know, his brothers & i will be down there as soon as possible! Kiss my lit angel cassie for me." Love you

"I'll be sure to call you to & love you too!"

I took a deep sigh and got out the car. I know i'm not ready for this but Carter was my heart and i was gone be by his side reguardless. I walked through the automatically sliding doors of Memphis Va Center and proceeding to ask the receptionist what room carter was in. She typed his name & quickly called the doctor. I turned around bcause i was growing angry by the second and she still didn't say a word to me.

"Hello ma'am, my name is doctor Sheffield, what kind of relations do you have with mr. Mayberry?"

"I'm his girlfriend, and is there anyway I can see him?"

"As a matter of fact yes but i want to explain some things before we walk to intensive care.

"Intensive care! omg is he ok, is he gonna die?

"Well ma'am let's take a seat." He protested

This was a tall, slim, white guy, seem to very nice, i tried my best not to cry or show any affections but it was killing me inside! Lord i just pray my baby is ok thats all i wanna hear right now.
