My Girl

Waking up early was the absolute worst. I was sleepy, moody and tired.

But every morning when I opened my eyes and saw Minho lying down next to me, my mood got ten times better.

We would wake up early, on time for the Maze Doors to open, and spend a while just cuddling and chatting before we got up.

I laughed as Minho was being a goofball as usual. A sassy and sarcastic little klunk, but still a goofball.

He stirred in the bed and I accommodated on his chest.

"Do you have to run today?" Every morning I asked him the same question, and the answer would always be yes.

"No"

I opened my eyes wide and looked up at him.

"Really?"

"Yeah, I knew it was your day off, so I asked Alby for a day off too" Minho answered with one of his adorable big grins that made his eyes all squinty.

"We can spend the day together!" I wildly exclaimed, so glad that I had him for myself.

"I have to talk to Newt about something, though" The Runner pointed out. "But when I get back I'm all yours"

I clapped my hands in excitement as I squeezed him tight.

"And I promised to help Chuck today" The kid was a Slopper and hated his job, so I offered to give him a hand only this time.

"Fine" Minho stood up and put his boots on. "I'll meet you later"

He gave me a kiss in the head and then walked off.

No wonder Chuck was fed up with being a Slopper, it was a terrible job. But at least he seemed to cheer up as we had a lively chat.

We had finished cleaning the bathrooms and showers –yuck- and we were now taking a break and sitting under the shadow of a tree.

"Hey" Someone had approached, so we looked up. It was Thomas, the latest Greenbean.

"Hi!" Chuck and I said at the same time.

"Um... do you guys mind giving me a hand?" He avoided eye contact, so he probably felt ashamed.

"Sure, I'll help you" I stood up and told Chuck that I'd be back in a moment as I followed Thomas.

He led me away to the West Door and stopped there.

"What is it, Greenie?" I comfortably folded my arms over my chest and stared at him expectantly.

"I just want to know more about the Maze" Thomas mumbled coyly, a twinkle of excitement still in his eyes.

This one was curious, that was for sure. He had been asking questions all over the Glade, annoying all the boys.

"Well, you're talking to the wrong person" I shrugged, clueless about what lay beyond those scary walls. "I know nothing about the Maze"

Thomas sighed in defeat, dropping his shoulders. Any hint of excitement on him now gone.

"Oh..."

"And you should stop asking questions too" I advised. "Alby and the guys are going to end up jacked with all these questions"

"Fine..."

Something told me that he would ignore my advice and still be a curious little klunk.

I was about to go back to Chuck, thinking the conversation was over, when he spoke again.

"You know, Y/N? You're... really pretty" He sheepishly said.

I grinned, amused by his behavior.

"Yeah, I've been told" I joked, not really knowing what he was up to.

He was flirting with me. Kind of...

Did he not know I had a boyfriend? Or did he just not care?

Thomas took a step closer to me and sweetly smiled at me as he looked me in the eyes.

"You're being really nice to me, thank you... You're-you're great"

I widely smiled at his compliments.and placed a hand on his arm.

Thomas suddenly took my hand, and before I could get away from his grip I heard him.

"Hey!" An angry Minho came stomping by.

Chuck followed close behind, trying to keep up with the athletic Minho although his short legs wouldn't let him.

"What the shuck do you think you're doing, Greenie?" Minho sounded pissed off.

"I was just talking to Y/N" Thomas mumbled, confused.

"No, you were flirting with her!" Minho shoved him angrily. "You were flirting with my girl!"

"What?" The Greenbean expression showed that he felt completely lost.

"Minho..." I held his arm and tugged at it until he turned to me. "Leave him alone, he didn't mean any harm"

"No!" Thomas defended himself. "I didn't know, I'm sorry!"

Minho faced the boy again, giving him a dirty look.

"Oh, you didn't know, shuck face?" That was his jealous tone, the one I knew so well.

"Here we go..." I sighed deeply.

Minho got so overprotective sometimes... The Gladers knew better than to try to flirt with me. But the unfortunate Greenie didn't.

"I didn't, I swear! I'm sorry!" Thomas assured, his glance nervously passing from Minho to me. When it landed on me, I read a cry for help in his eyes.

"So you didn't ever see us together at all, huh?"

"Minho, stop it" I stood between my boyfriend and the Greenie, afraid that Minho's wrath would get Thomas hurt. "He just arrived!"

"She's right, I hadn't really noticed you two were dating" Thomas bowed his head in submission, letting Minho know how sorry he was. "I won't ever try to flirt with your girlfriend again, I promise, I'm sorry"

Poor Thomas. He had just arrived in the Glade and was trying to get used to that crazy way of life and on top of all he was scolded by the Keeper of the Runners no less.

The Greenie wasn't even flirting that much. It was more of a clumsy and cute chat that included some compliments than actual flirting.

"Damn right you're not" Minho energetically nodded his head, his eyebrows raised. "Now get the shuck out of here!"

Thomas looked at us one more time before he heaved a sigh and started walking away.

"That was... Poor guy, Minho!" I whined, lightly shoving him to the side.

"Well, he's gotta learn how things work around here. And you're mine" His glare was intense as he stared at me and claimed me his by pulling me closer to him.

"So just because you were jealous you have to be so rude?" I laughed a little, placing my hands on his chest and lightly pushing him away.

"I wasn't jealous!" Minho simply said, offended that I thought otherwise.

Minho smirked and comfortable placed his arm over my shoulders.

"So you just saw him flirting with me and got angry at him but you weren't jealous" I raised an eyebrow at him, and he just nodded.

"That's right. No one flirts with my girl"
