I smile.
"Tessa," Dr. McCarthy says.
"Yes?"
"Are you going to answer my question?" He smiles.
"Oh, I'm okay."
"Really?" He asks.
I nod.
"Just okay?" He raises his eyebrows.
"Why?"
"You smile like my daughter smiled when she started dating her first girlfriend."
I look at him. "I'm not lesbian."
"That's not what I meant," he answers. "How are you and Noah?"
"What?" I snap. We decided not to tell our parents. Or I decided not to.
He smiles. "You're dating."
"No," I frown.
"Yes," he smiles. I want to slap it off his face.
A knock comes from the door, saving me.
Dr. McCarthy frowns. "Come in."
My mother enters.
"Mrs. Blackwell," my therapist stands up.
"Hello, Mason." She smiles in return. "I'm afraid I have to pick up Tessa early, family business."
"May I ask why?" Dr. McCarthy pulls off his glasses.
"Family is visiting," she says, nervous.
"Who?" I cut in.
She doesn't answer me. "Well, let's go."
I shrug and get up.

"So Tessa," my mother stops me from entering inside the theater.
I hear laughing. My dad and another man. "Yeah?"
"You know your father and I love you," she says, nervous.
"Did I do something?"
"No," she smiles. "It's just we want you to understand the situation at hand, we take care of our own family."
I nod, confused. "Okay?"
"Well, he's back."
I look at her, confused. "Who's back-?"
A figure emerges from the theater.
It was Mark.
"Hey, Tessa," he looks me over. He just checked me out.
"No." I whisper, shaking my head.
"Tessa-" my mother tries.
"No!" I scream. I shake, uncontrollably.
I run for the stairs. Mark chases me."Please! Mom!" I kick as he wraps his arms around me. "Let me go!"
Images flash in my mind. The way he looked at me. How he would always grab at me. The pain when he did it.
I was fourteen.
I shake more at the though.
"Its okay, Tessa, he's family," my dad walks in.
"Please dad, get him away from me," I cry.
"I think you need some time to think, Tessa." He calmly says.
"This man raped me! He fucking raped his own niece! We're fucking family!" I scream, pushing away from Mark.
"Tessa, you know what happened-"
