=ANNABETH'S POV=

Gabe did this...

He broke Percy.

I began frantically pacing back and forth.

"How come I never noticed it before?" I asked myself. "I-I could have done something, I could've helped him!"

I ran my hands through my hair in an attempt to calm myself down- it didn't work.

"How long had it been going on before he stopped?!" I muttered. "I'm a daughter of Athena, I should have figured it out sooner, I should've-"

"Woah,  Annabeth! Slow down!" Leo interrupted, waving his hands in the air.

Unfortunately, Percy took one look at his hands and rushed towards the door. He slammed into it, but before he could get his hands on the knob, Jason and Will grabbed him from behind.

"L-let me g-go!" He stuttered.

He was shaking and his eyes had glazed over.

The two boys didn't move.

"W-what happened to him?!" Jason  yelled.

"Annabeth!" Piper screamed over the chaos. "Explanation NOW!"

"Percy, he-" I started.

"Agh! Never mind! You can explain when everything's sorted out, just-"

She turned to the Athena kids. "What in Hades are you guys still doing here?! Can't you see this is a personal situation?!" She basically yelled in all their faces, pouring charmspeak into her words.

They immediately bolted for the door- which, of course, only made matters worse.

Jason, Will and Percy were all pushed back by the incoming mob of Athena campers who fought amongst themselves as they tried to make their way out of the infirmary.

This only seemed to infuriate Piper, "GET OUT!"

Instantly, the whole Athena cabin was gone. Poof, just like that. Okay, maybe they didn't just disappear, but- sorry. My ADHD is getting to me.

Anyway, the Athena cabin was gone- leaving the door wide open.

Percy, being smart (not really) demigod he was, took this as an opening to escape. Before any of us could stop him, he ran straight out the door and towards Rachel's cave.

I heard Piper sigh in exasperation. "Why does he always have to run away?"

Leo shrugged, then glanced at his hands. 'I don't know about that, but what I want to know is why is he afraid of my hands?"

'Maybe because your hands can catch on fire?" Frank suggested, glaring at Leo's hands.

"Well that doesn't explain why he's afraid of yours!" Leo retorted- I guess he noticed Frank glaring at him.

"Mine? What does that have to do with anything?!" Frank yelled back.

Leo opened his mouth- probably to make some snappy comeback. But before he could say anything, Piper interrupted him.
