[A/N: Hey ;D! I just wanted to know whether you guys think I should start a short story called 'A Change in the Past.' It's set in the Son of Neptune, but instead of arriving at Camp Jupiter, Percy arrives at Camp Half-Blood. He still has amnesia, but the camp won't trigger all his memories at once- that would be boring. So just tell me what you think! Anyway, I'm very proud of this chapter, I think it's the best one so far. OK, on with the story! XD]
=PERCY'S POV=
Annabeth looked as beautiful as I remembered; well anyone would look beautiful when they're... You know, not dead. Except that her eyes were red and puffy because she had been crying. Correction: because she is crying.
I took a glance at everybody in the room, which was pretty much the seven, Will Solace and Nico. Everyone looked like they'd had a huge weight lifted off their shoulders. Jason was panting heavily and kept saying to Leo how much of a relief it was that I could still remember them. Piper was trying to calm Annabeth down with her charmspeak, while Frank and Hazel (who had just arrived a few minutes before from Camp Jupiter) were asking everyone what was going on. Meanwhile, Will and Nico were doing some awkward small talk about who knows what.
"So what did you guys want to talk about?" I asked nervously, in an attempt to break the tension.
"Oh nothing much, except WHAT THE HADES IS GOING ON?!" Frank yelled in frustration. I guess he got tired of people ignoring him when he and Hazel were trying to ask them something.
"THAT'S WHAT WE'RE TRYING TO FIGURE OUT TOO, MR -"
"Everyone just STOP SHOUTING!" Leo was interrupted by Piper, aka the 'Peace Maker', even though she didn't seem to realize that she, herself, was shouting.
Everyone immediately, closed their mouth.
"I think the only way we're going to figure out what's happening is if we hear all sides of the story," Piper said.
Piper motioned towards me in a 'go on' gesture.
"Oh right,"
And so, I told them. Everything. I explained how I blacked out and then woke up in a grey wasteland, how Annabeth died, I may or may not have shed a few tears, though my voice did choke up when I talked about my mom and how she got whipped by the arai. The only part I left out was the beginning, where that unknown voice talked to me. I wasn't sure I wanted to share that yet.
Will nodded thoughtfully, "that sounds about right, but you didn't tell us the beginning."
I prayed he wasn't talking about what I thought he was talking about.
He turned towards Annabeth, "you know, when something or someone was intercepting the signal."
I felt all eyes turn to me. Schist, I thought. Now what am I going to do?
I shifted in my place, "Uhhhh...." I said stupidly.
No wonder Annabeth calls me seaweed brain, I thought.
"I can't remember?" It came out more like a question.
Annabeth's stormy grey eyes bore into me like she was trying to pry all the secrets from my head. She was like the lioness and I was like the little fish she was trying to eat- I'm weird, I know. Dam you ADHD!
"Are you keeping something from us Percy?"
"Whaaaat? I would never keep anything from you Wise Girl," I said nervously.
I bit my lip and prayed they weren't going to charmspeak me into telling them.
That's when Piper smiled at me and I knew she was about to use her charmspeak. I have the worst luck ever. Piper opened her mouth and I was prepared for the worst, when I made my decision. I did the most logical thing possible: I ran.
