Bookstore AU :~) jeongguk is twenty-one years old!
(a little single father AU mixed in as well)

---

ever since he dropped out of collage and got a job at a local bookstore - jeongguk's life has always moved upwards for him.

but, in is ever so happy life, sometimes he's just so bored.

"i have nothing to do." jeongguk groans, book resting on his head. he hears namjoon snicker beside him.

"heres's something," namjoon says, lifting the book from jeongguk's face. jeongguk throws him a glare. "why don't you go over there and help that dude?" he points to a man who has platinum blond hair.

"he's been hovering around the whole store." namjoon smirks, "plus, it's my break. go." he orders. jeongguk sighs deeply, but gets up anyways. if he wants to keep his job he could at least be a good employee.

"hi, do you you need any help?" jeongguk smiles. the stranger turns to meets jeongguk's eyes, and his face is oddly eager.

"uh, do you have any books about like, aliens or something?" the man asks. jeongguk flinches so subtly that the man's face doesn't change when jeongguk lets out an awkward cough.

"if you would follow me." jeongguk almost laughs. he's usually one to judge people of their book choices.

"it's for my daughter." the man speaks up as they walk around the store. jeongguk's eyes grow wide, but decides to reply.

"how old is she?" he asks, suddenly fond of the man.

"she's just two years old, turning three. this is my birthday present for her." he grins, and jeongguk can't help but laugh a little bit, he's never met someone like this would have a daughter and be this young. but, in some ways, he thinks it's pretty cute.

jeongguk finally shows him some children story books about aliens, and the man beams with happiness when he finds the perfect book.

"my daughter will love this." he mutters to himself, and jeongguk can't help but smile.

---

jeongguk doesn't see the man for the next two weeks. he'll admit it, the guy was pretty cute and he seemed really caring about his daughter. that kind of thing attracts jeongguk, caring and cute.

"what's up lover boy?" namjoon slaps jeongguk's arm playfully.

"uh, who am i in love with?" jeongguk says.

"weren't you ogling that silver haired dude last week?"

"um, no?" jeongguk stares at namjoon. "you're gross, go away." namjoon doesn't even blink.

"mhm." namjoon snickers, trotting away.

jeongguk definitely realizes the man doesn't come back for the next month. and just when jeongguk's about to forget him, he shows up at the worst time.

"hi, again." he smiles. jeongguk looks up, currently he's writing a review for a book he recently read, and the man looks at him curiously. jeongguk scrambles to put his things away, and the man chuckles at him softly.

"oh, hi." jeongguk stutters, patting his trousers.

"my daughter loved the book." the man mentions as he twiddles his fingers, and it's pretty cute, jeongguk thinks.

"oh, and I'm Kim taehyung." he says after a moment of silence shared between them, holding his hand out for jeongguk to shake.

"jeongguk," he whispers in a daze, and taehyung smile is so dazzlingly bright that jeongguk can feel his face flush.
