Since I retired from football at the end of last season I had tried to keep myself out of the public eye. I had never enjoyed being so well known away from football, I hated being stopped in the street and I hated the feeling of people subtly trying to take photos of me as I went about my daily life, but this wasn't the main reason why I had avoided public occasion since I stopped playing.
We hadn't announced the pregnancy yet, we hadn't been hiding away and most people probably knew already, but we hadn't never confirmed the rumours.

Barca were honouring me by naming the new girls youth academy after me and there was going to be an opening ceremony this weekend to celebrate which Isy and I both knew we needed to attend. It was a huge honour and I wanted to be there to thank them.
