Before they knew it they were surrounded. About ten indians with feathers in there hair and wild eyes were yelling around them. Brookalyn got a match and tried to set one of their headdresses on fire despite Arica's pleads. The next ten minutes was a blur there was too much smoke stirred up to see anything. When everything was visible Barrett and Darkus realized the girls were gone and could barely see the indians any longer. Ash covered the ground and they could hear muffled screams. Barrett was sobbing got a stick and lit it and tried to burn himself. "Dude, what's wrong with you?! We have to save the girls!". "You go save them Darkus. I have no reason to live. You didn't even want me to come. I don't want to be stuck living in the middle of the woods with no one who cares about me. Arica's dead and she was the closest to a parent I've ever had. I don't know what happened to my mom I never saw her again after my 2nd birthday. My dad makes me fight to make money and could care less. Why do you think we ran away Darkus? To have a life and to have a family. My family is gone. Arica,Brookalyn and Trisky are now sacrifices" Barrett said. "Barrett that isn't true. I care about you ok? I know I don't act like it but, I do. The girls might be alive and if not we'll make it somehow. Your mom was indian wasn't she? They can't all be bad and man your half indian your not half bad. Your only thirteen you have so much life ahead of you kid"said Darkus. "Let's go get those girls" Barrett said. They ran swiftly through the woods but, soon were thrown by big indian men into a cage they pulled by a rope up far from the ground. The girls were in another one across from them. The five sobbed realizing it was the last time they would probably see each other. There was a huge bonfire and several dancing chanting indians around it. Many slaughtered animals were being thrown into the bonfire and they had been rotting a long time. The smell was purely sickening and the girls were gagging. Then they realized they would be next. "I love you" they all mouthed to each other. They all decided on a topic they never agreed on that they believed in God and started folding their hands in prayers of forgiveness. They then opened their eyes and sobbed. The boys were being slowly lowered towards the bonfire when a scream stopped it all. "Mommy!". A young Indian woman looked up and began to cry and yelled "Stop!". The chief yelled at her "What is the meaning of this Narcissa?!". "That is my son!" she wailed."That's my son! My little boy!". Barrett saw his mother for the first time since he was two years old but, recognized her face and she recognized his. It was almost a magical moment. Three indians pulled back the rope making the cages go away from the bonfire and released the five from in them. Barrett ran and hugged his mother in tears. They both sobbed and everyone watched as they reunited after eleven years. The chief declared a feast and thirteen year old Barrett sat around the fire beside his friends and the indians but, he sat in his mothers lap. Darkus teased him little but, he didn't care. Narcissa just held her teenage son and rocked him as if he was two years old all over again. After fifteen minutes he got up and sat in between her and Arica. "Why did you leave me when I was a baby? How could you do that to me?" sobbed Barrett.
