IT HAD BEEN A LONG YEAR. SINCE THE day that the town was split in two with the Upside Down nearly breaking into Hawkins, the whole town had been turned into a military quarantine zone.
None of them had been allowed to leave due to fear of what the mysterious dust had done to their bodies. The government issued regular medical check ups on everyone but never found anything.
Bea was scared. They had spent nearly a year trapped in Hawkins. Some people had managed to get out early before the mandatory curfews and the military zone was set up but so many remained.
It was hard knowing that they had to wait to see if something would happen. If Vecna was alive or not or whether they would all be killed in a second.
She was happy in some ways, Steve was living with her and the Hendersons since his parents fled the town and he was happy to be with her.
He was most happy to be with her due to their shotgun wedding a few months ago. They decided that if they were going to be trapped in Hawkins forever then they might as well get married there too. The ceremony was small but was just enough for them.
She was relieved knowing that Hopper was alive and she had him again, even if she only really got to see him in a crawl.
As she drove to see Steve and sRobin at WSQK radio station where they were working now, she drove past the military zone.
The highstreet was closed off, now being locked away from everyone because that was where the main hole was, that was where the government were experimenting.
As she pulled up into the field, parking her car in her designated spot next to Steves, she noticed that the radio had started to flicked into static.
She furrowed her brow at the noise, trying to change the frequency but it seemed as if there was something wrong with the entire station.
Quickly, she rushed out of her car and into WSQK to find Steve and Robin panicking over the machines and trying to find a way to fix the situation.
Robin's head turned around as she heard the door slam closed, "Mrs Harrington, just the person we need to see right now!" She announced.
Bea laughed, she was never going to get used to it "You need me to try and fix something?"
"Yeah, your brother is no help," Steve dropped the comms on the table in frustration.
Bea nodded. She had been worried about him for a while ever since he had been dressing like Eddie and getting into fights at school.
He kept causing problems for himself and she could see that the boys were worried about him as well.
"What are we looking for?" Bea asked, watching as Robin started to scramble through drawers.
She looked over the desk, "A manual?" She said just as Nancy and Jonathan walked in.
