EIGHTEEN MONTHS LATER, BEA WALKED the stroller through town as it was being rebuilt. She pushed the little baby girl through town, eyes stopping on the memorial for all those that died in the 'earthquake'
There were no soldiers anymore, no fences around Hawkins stopping people from getting out and no cameras watching everyone all the time.
She walked past the cinema, Melvalds, the AV shop. All of it brought her back to a time when Hawkins was a happy place to live in and finally it was again.
Bea had collected a cake for Dustin at the shops, preparing to meet her husband at the grocery store after his baseball game with the kids. He had loved being the coach ever since he had applied to be their sports teacher.
She walked through town, hearing the sound of footsteps chasing after her. She turned around, a quick flash of panic before she remembered that there was nothing to be scared about anymore.
Bea relaxed when she saw her husband chasing after her, "Sorry, game was longer than I thought," he said, giving her a kiss on the cheek before crouching down and looking at his daughter.
"Hi Janey, you miss dada?" He asked, giving her a big kiss on the forehead, her dark curly hair growing in slowly.
Jane Joyce Harrington, the little 10 month old baby girl who had brought so much joy to everyone in such a dark time.
"Come on Steve, we have to go home, we will be late," she said, walking towards Steve's new car.
She made it back to her house in time for the photos. Over the last 18 months her and her mum had finally managed to reconcile their relationship. Bea now understood how much her mother had sacrificed for her to have a good life, and now that she had her own daughter, she understood.
"Sorry we're late, game ran over," Steve said, putting his bag down at the door before rushing inside, "Looking dapper Henderson,"
Bea smiled at her brother before turning to her husband, "Can you go get changed and sort Jane out please?" She asked and he nodded, picking his daughter up.
She walked over to see her mum was about to take the picture of Dustin in his cap and gown, his teeth wide in a grin as he waited, "Are you going to take the picture now?"
Their mother lowered the camera, tears already flowing from her eyes, sobs escaping her as she realised both of her kids would be out of the house now.
"Ma, it's okay," Bea walked over, "Me and Steve and Janey are still gonna be in Hawkins,"
"And I'm only going to be a day's drive away, and I'm coming home every chance I get," He promised, wrapping his mum in a big hug, Bea quickly joining.
His mum let out another sob, "Okay,"
"Do you want me to take a picture of you two?" Bea asked and their mum smiled, moving to the side to stand next to Dustin.
