"STEVE" BEA YELLED OUT HIS NAME when they turned the corner into the abandoned farm, lights flickering all around them. In front of the car was the Demogorgon who was towering over Joyce Byers.
"Got it!" He exclaimed before slamming his foot onto the accelerator and running the Demogorgon, watching as it bounced off of the hood of his car.
They stopped then, listening to it scream out in pain. Dustin laughed, clapping his hands as he realised what a victory that was.
The car spun quickly, Steve ready to hit it with his car again if he needed to but before he could, it turned around and ran headfirst into the grain silo, ripping a hole through and jumping into the Upside Down.
"Its flipped, its heading back towards us," Dustin explained, checking the readings.
Steve, instead of chasing the signal like he would usually do, was sitting in the front seat completely zoned out as he stared into the interdimensional hole.
"Come on, what are you doing man? We have to turn around," Jonathan grabbed the front of the seat, leaning closer to Steve.
"The gates are crunchy and tough but when you bite down it has a gooey, creamy core. Like a peanut butter bopper," he explained, "If I drive fast enough, I think the beamer could punch a hole in the gate and then we can track the Demo on its home turf,"
They sat there in silence for a split second, comprehending the crazy idea that Steve had to jump into the Upside Down.
"We're losing the signal!" Dustin yelled.
"We won't be able to follow anything if we crash!" Jonathan exclaimed, looking over at Nancy who had a confused look on her face, almost as if she was comprehending it.
Bea looked at Steve, seeing the determined look on his face, "I trust him,"
"It's almost gone!"
Bea looked at her brother in the backseat with his headphones on. She then looked at Nancy who nodded her head, the two girls had been in agreement a lot lately.
"Do it," she said and with half of the car now in agreement, Steve changed gears and sped towards the grain silo.
As they got closer, the gate almost looked like it was closing. Bea grabbed onto the seat in panic, glad that she wasn't pregnant as she was about to speed into the Upside Down. Steve slammed down hard on the accelerator, focused solely on making it through.
There was a weird slimy noise as the car travelled through the tunnel, the sides of the beamer scrapping through. Bea squeezed her eyes shut and when she opened them again, they were in the Upside down.
They all cheered at the fact that it worked. Bea squeezed her husbands shoulder, kissing him in the cheek.
"Looks like our boys taking a shortcut through Roane Cemetery," Steve said as he made another turn, following Dustins instructions.
