AS SOON AS THE CAR PULLED UP TO WSQK, Bea saw Steve, Dustin and Jonathan waiting there for them.
Jonathan was running towards the car, arms wrapping around Nancy as soon as she closed the door behind her and she just stood there frozen for a second.
Steve started to walk over and Bea pulled him in for a tight hug, head buried into his shoulder. It had been a very long night.
When she looked over his shoulder, her happiness at seeming him faded as she saw her younger brother, tissues shoved up his nose and blood on his face.
"Dustin Henderson!" She exclaimed and walked over, blood boiling in her veins.
She placed her hands on his shoulders and examined his beat up face. That was her baby brother, the one person she had always sworn to protect and here he was looking like he'd lost a big fight.
"Bicycle accident, flew head first into a lamppost," he said, giving her a half hearted smile.
She knew he was lying. She opened her mouth to say something, to chastise him for this stupidity but she couldn't. There was clearly a reason why he hadn't told her.
"Holy shit!" Mike said, looking at his friend.
"Bike crash," Dustin reiterated to him and Lucas, "I'm sorry to all of you for missing the crawl,"
"It's not your fault, don't beat yourself up," Mike said, his tone awfully cheery.
Lucas scoffed, giving Dustins face another look, "Seems like somebody already did, is that broken,"
Dustin smacked his hand out of the way as it reached towards his face, "Don't touch it!" He exclaimed.
Robin burst through the door, "This isn't a social call kiddos, let's go,"
Bea looked at Steve. The two of them knew there was more to the story but there was no point in fighting Dustin anymore about it all.
When they got inside, Will and Joyce were already there, starting to explain that Will was able to see through the Demogorgons eyes and knew that the next target was Derek Turnbow.
"How can you be sure Derek's the next target?" Bea asked.
Will sighed, standing at the head of the table, "I saw him. Ive learned that if I'm close enough I can tap into Vecnas mind. First time I was Holly, the same day she was taken. This morning it happened again, but I was Derek Turnbow,"
"I'm a little lost," Steve brushed a hand over his face, eyes furrowed as he thought.
"Shocking," Dustin quipped, rolling his eyes.
Steve just ignored him, "Were you seeing through the eyes of Vecna or of Derek?"
"Both," Will said, "I was Vecna but inside of Derek's mind,"
