A few weeks later.
My phone dinged and I nearly broke my neck to grab it. But of course it wasn't Ace like I hoped it would be. I literally feel like I'm going crazy, I've been texting and calling him- only to be ignored.
And I don't know what I did to deserve this. I mean I know he was pretty pissed about the Grayson thing, but I thought we could talk about that. I haven't even talked to Grayson since that night. Because it just wasn't worth it. I have no feelings for that man whatsoever.
I've told him that so many times.. he knows I only have eyes for Ace. I have to admit, I was only in contact with Greyson to hurt Ace.
And now?
Now that little choice was killing me.
"Hey Ariana, you dressed?"
I sighed hearing Frankie knocking at my door. I really just wanted to be alone right now. But silence never lasted long in my life—not when I still had obligations, expectations, a whole image to maintain. I couldn't let my feelings get in the way.
"Yeah Frankie- come in."
The door opened slowly as I stepped into my walk-in closet, staring blankly at clothes that suddenly felt meaningless.
"Soooo," he sang lightly, "you ready for rehearsal?"
I grabbed my heels and matching purse, my movements automatic. "Yeah," I muttered. "I guess I kinda have to be."
When I walked back into the room, Frankie was sprawled across my California king like he bought the place—legs crossed, arm propping up his head, entirely too comfortable.
"Still no word from Ace huh?"
I raised my eyebrows at how comfortable he looked. "Hmm what made you guess?"
He sat up shrugging. "Just the sour look on your face and the attitude in your voice. It's a lot sharper than usual."
Without even looking at him, I flipped him off and reached for my phone again—checking it like it might suddenly change its mind and light up with Ace's name.
Nothing.
"Ariana, babe," Frankie started gently, "I love you to pieces. But if a man isn't answering any of your calls or texts, maybe you shouldn't be so—"
