Atsuko sat in the hallway, the area she was about to duel was just around the corner and what she was feeling was a first for her. It was a combination of uncertainty, nervousness, low confidence and fear. Atsuko wanted to prove that she was the better duellist and inside she used to believe that but for some reason at the moment when she needed to believe it the most, she couldn't. She was contradicting all of her strategies and everything that she had learned up to this point because she felt like it was all fake. She heard some cheering going on around the corner, Yugi must have just walked into the arena. Time to get this over with. Taking a deep breath before standing up, Atsuko rounded the corner and walked into the indoor arena. The Palace seemed to have undergone a few renovations for the tournament because it was indeed an arena. Atsuko walked up to the short champion, trying to compose she self-doubt.

"Good luck Atsuko. This should be an interesting duel."

"You as well." They exchanged decks so their opponents could shuffle them, Atsuko worried about what exactly Yugi had up his sleeve since the last time she watched one of his duels. "Here you go." She said as she passed him his deck and had her's returned before she turned to the opposite end of the arena.

"Let's duel!" They both yelled as the put their desks in their duel disks.

"Ladies first." Yugi said.

"Why thank you." Atsuko took a breath before drawing her first card. "First I'll play Charge of the Light Brigade. This card allows me to add any 4 star or lower level "Lightsworn" monster to my hand from my deck if I discard the top 3 cards from my deck. So I'll also play the card I just took, so say hello to my Garoth, Lightsworn Paladin. I'll then place three cards face down and end my turn."

"Okay, I summon Green Gadget in defence mode, then because of his special ability, I can add Red Gadget to my hand. Then I'll place this face down then play Swords Of Revealing Light, to stop your monsters from attacking for three turns."

"Fine with me. I'll draw a card and pass this turn."

"Pass?"

"Yup, your go Yugi."

"Okay, first I'll play Ties of the Brethren, so if I give up 1000 life points I can summon both Red and Yellow Gadget in defence mode. Then I'll play my Stronghold Moving Fortress and since all three Gadgets are on the field, his attack points are boosted up to 3ooo."

"Not so fast. I play Fissure. This card destroys the monster with the lowest attack points on your side of the field. So good bye Yellow gadget and your fortress' attack points return to 0, causing you to lose 1850 life points." (Yugi is at 1150 points)

Grimacing at his first move being blocked, Yugi realized this duel would be harder than he had originally expected. "I'll move my Red and Green Gadgets to defence mode and end my turn."

"First I'll play Gold Sarcophagus, banishing one card from my deck."

"Why banish a card that you can't play this early in the duel?" Yugi has this card in his own deck, but didn't know about the second effect if could have.

"You'll see, now I'll activate the Special Effect of my Lightsworn Beast. You see, if I send him to the graveyard, which I did last turn, I can special summon him directly to the field. Then, I'll play Pot of Greed, allowing me to draw two cards from my deck. Finally, I'll summon the Lightsworn Monk that I just drew and set one card to end my turn. Show me what you got Yugi."

"First I'll play Card of Sanctity, so draw until you have 6 cards. Then I'll play my Silent Swordsman and place three cards face down and end my turn."

"Running of moves Yugi?"

"Not even close."

"Good. First I'll sacrifice my Monk, and Beast to summon my Judgment Dragon that I got a hold of from my Gold Sarcophagus."
