Chapter 15: The Party's Beginning

Christmas Eve and Christmas Day were different for everyone. The gang spent Christmas Eve together at a restaurant and then each of them spent Christmas Day with their families. Atsuko had three parties in a row, one Christmas Eve, one Christmas Day and one Boxing Day. The first two were really just ways for snobby rich CEO's to try and flaunt their wealth, but the one that her family was nothing like that. Atsuko's family only invited close relatives, friends and company employees that are very loyal to theirs. They didn't send invitations to companies that they were partners with but had had some problems with in the past or are often trying the steal money through strange contracts. Another thing that was very different about this party was that no press are invited, which Atsuko loved. Especially since the press were all over the Wakahisa family, Atsuko was going to enjoy a day without them.

It was about two hours before the party and Atsuko was still waiting for Serenity and Tea to get to her house. She told them to come there to get ready so the didn't have to worry about get their dresses dirty and such. The only thing expensive that people brought to these parties were their outfits so Atsuko wanted to make sure that everyone had the best that they could to repay them. She took care of Tea and Serenity while Shou and Yoshirou took care of the boys. Then she heard a knock at the door, causing her to bolt from her seat and run to the door.

"Hi!" she yelled when she opened the door.

"You seem in a good mood." Serenity said, laughing a bit.

"Of course! This is may favourite time of the year." She had helped the decorators with decorating the house whenever she was home and they were just doing the finishing touches as they walked to her room.

"It seems like you guys really take this party seriously." Tea asked, looking at the elaborate and carefully placed decorations throughout the foyers and hallways.

Atsuko laughed a bit. "We like to think of this party as a friends and family thing more than a company party. Even though people from the company and other companies are invited we like to make it as homey has possible." She answered as they walked up the stairs and into her room. "Okay, so I think I picked out the perfect dresses for the both of you." Atsuko added as she walked to the wardrobe on the other side of the room across from her bed. She pulled out two dry cleaning bags, both of them solid black so it was impossible to see the contents. "Here Serenity this is yours, you can put it on in the bathroom. And Tea, this one is for you. You can change in here."

"What about you?" Tea asked, wondering where she was going to change.

"Oh, my things are in my sister's room. I guess I forgot to tell you we were getting ready with her too." Atsuko answered, making her way to the door.

"That's fine. 'The more, the merrier' right?'" Serenity said, walking into the attached bathroom and closing the door to change. Atsuko walked out and headed dow to her sister's room to change, knowing very well that she would already be in her dress. She knocked on her sister's door and it opened with her running out, the dress flowing as she danced around the hallway. Atsuko laughed as she walked into her sister's bathroom, changing into the dress that, unfortunately, was not the one she would have chosen to wear. Her father basically begged her to wear this dress so she agreed.

Walking back into her room, Atsuko found Tea and Serenity awing over their dresses and were complimenting Amaya as well.

"Oh my god, Atsuko, your dress is gorgeous!" Tea said, coming over to the girl, grabbing her arms and pulling her into the room more.

"You look stunning!" Serenity added.

"Never mind me, you two look marvellous! I'm so happy the dresses fit you both so well! And Yugi and Duke will think so too." Atsuko had a sly look as she said the last part, gaining blushed and fake confused looks from the two girls. "Oh, come on! It's so obvious that you," she looked to Serenity, "are into Duke and Tea's into Yugi. And they are so into you too."
