Walking into the dining hall was like walking into a completely different world for Atsuko's friends. Atsuko had mentioned to them earlier that her family had to have a different layout than other years due to there being about 20 more guests than last year, but she never mentioned the obvious hard work that went into decorating. There were different areas, separated by potted plants, to create different atmospheres. Where the CEO's and their wives were sitting was the main dining room had a simple layout. Where the younger kids would be sitting was bright and had lots of things to distract them to have them eat a little more slowly. Then there were three areas for everyone else, two having large tables that could fit about 35 people each and then a small table for the third area, where Atsuko and her friends would be sitting. Atsuko spent most of her time organizing this table, the table being all red, white and silver. She had rented some red felt chairs to help with the scene. Atsuko would never tell anyone but she also made small red and white hand glued christmas trees out left over Christmas ornaments.
"You're going to be sitting with us too." Atem said authoritatively.
"Of course. I wouldn't invite you guys and then ditch." She answered laughing, taking the seat beside the one that Atem had taken. Everyone began talking about random things, nothing really too serious. Soon enough, a half an hour went by and the food had still not arrived yet, obviously being felt by two certain people at the table.
"So, what's to eat?" Joey asked, leaning back a bit in his chair.
"No that you mention it, I am really hungry." Tristan added.
"Joey!" "Tristan!" Serenity and Tea both yelled in outrage at the same time, causing everyone else at the table to laugh.
"No it's alright. It had been some time since dinner was supposed to be served. I'll go check on it." Atsuko said giggling as she got up from her chair and made her way to the main dining hall. Before she made her way to the kitchen she wanted to make sure that everyone else had their food before she questioned the cooks. On her way, she ran into one of the son's of a newer partner making his way back to one of the smaller halls, most likely from the bathroom.
"You're Atsuko Wakahisa, right?" He said, stopping in front of her so she couldn't get past.
"Yes. You must be the son of the CEO of Dome, am I correct?" Atsuko replied.
"Very much so. That's quite impressive."
"Thank you. I'm sorry to be rude but I must check on something. I hope you are enjoying the party." She said, bowing then tried to make her way past the boy, who was maybe a year or two older than her.
However, it seemed he had other ideas. "You are quite a unique looking girl. I don't think I've ever seen a Japanese girl with such unusual eyes, let alone blonde hair."
"Well, as you are probably well aware, I am not fully Japanese."
"Yes, that's true. However, two genetic mutations such as this are extremely rare."
"What are you trying to say?"
"Nothing, just pointing out an observation." He moved closer to Atsuko and soon pinned her against the wall. "I wonder if there is something else unique about you?" Ha added, moving his hands to her arms.
"What are you doing?" She asked worried, assuming that she was thinking what he was trying to do. Unfortunately, unknown to her, she was right.
"I just want to become better acquainted, is that such a problem?"
"I think the problem she is having is how you are trying to do so." A voice rang through the corridor. Even though Atsuko couldn't see who it was, she very well knew by the voice.
