13. movie date

Chapter 13: Movie Date

It's been three days since I last talked to Thomas. Stephan and I were going to hangout today, which kind of brought back my mood up from the sadness Thomas gave me.

We planned to watch Nerve. Stephan said he would pay, but I wouldn't let him.

After Stephan and I got popcorn, we went into the theater. When we sit down, I realized Thomas was here... with Erika.

We found seats in the back and sat down. The movie started and Stephan put his arm around my waist. I look up at him and smile.

We continued to watch the movie.

After the movie, Stephan and I walked out of the theater. "Did you like the movie?"

I nodded and jumped up a bit. "Yeppedy yep yep. But it was kind of a cliffhanger."

He pouted and said,"Cliffhangers suck. I'm always left hanging, and it especially stinks if the next movies don't even come out when the latest movie had a cliffhanger."

I nodded.

Stephan and I walked around the mall next to the theater. It was night so Stephan and I got dinner. Thomas and Erika went, too.

To the same restaurant.

Stephan and I went outside. But Erika and Thomas stayed inside, next to the window. Stephan and I talked and I always caught Thomas staring at me.

Stephan grabs hold of my hand and smiles at me. I smile back and look down, making sure he didn't see me blush.

I looked back up and we continued to talk. After a while, a waiter came. "Hello, my name is Jessie. May I take you order?"

We both looked through the menu. I nodded and asked, "Can I have prime rib steak, medium rare,and corn?"

She turns towards Stephan. "And you?"

"Same please." She writes it down. "Oh and I forgot to ask, any appetizers and drinks?"

We looked at each other and shook our heads for the appetizers. I looked up at her and asked her for dr. pepper and Stephan asked for some sprite, which she writes down.

She then leaves. Stephan tapped the table and asked "How long have you been here?"

"Um... I think about three weeks. I'm not the one to count, if I had to be honest." I said.

He nodded and smiled. "Me too."

We continue to try and get to know each other. Then the food comes.

The waiter places our plates on the table and says,"Enjoy your meal."

We both thank her and she leaves. I grabbed my knife and fork, and started cutting up my steak when Stephan sighed and just picked at his food. "Why aren't you eating?"

He sighed and looked up. "Can I be honest?"

I nodded and he continued. "I have a fear of knives so I can't eat this cut. Unless you can do it. I'm just afraid of cutting myself."

Smiling, I nodded. "Okay, sure. I actually find it cute how you're afraid of knives."

He shyly looked down, blush evident on his cheeks. "Do you have any fears?"

I nodded. "Bugs. Spiders. Bugs. Death. Did I mention bugs? Well, bugs scare me the most, I hate bugs. Especially spiders."

He chuckled and looked back up. I grabbed his plate and cut up his steak for him, handing it back to him. "Thank you."

"No problem." I smiled brightly. To the side, I could see Erika looking at Stephan, snickering. I rolled my eyes and just waved at her, clicking my tongue as I did so. She give me a bitter smile and grabbed Thomas's hand.

I rolled my eyes once again. "This is really good, better than my cooking."

Stephan nodded. "Although, I can't cook."

I chuckled and continued to stuff the food down my mouth. "You're cute."

My cheeks heated up and I set down the utensils I held in my hands. Stephan then notified me that I had some sauce at the tip of my lips. I gasped and wiped off the sauce on my mouth since this wasn't some sappy cliché romance story [ lmao it is ] Stephan hadn't did what the boy did and wiped it off for the girl, and just continued eating.

I felt someone staring at me, which couldn't be Stephan since his one priority at the moment was the food laying in front of him. I looked around and saw Thomas looking over at me, his eyes somewhat sparkling.

He quickly looks away and continues to eat his meal. Erika looks at me and smirks.

After dinner, Stephan drives me home in his not so broken down car. "This was fun."

I nodded, smiling as I looked over at him. He smiled over at me. "Well, I'll see you at school, Monday, I guess?"

"Yeah.. I guess."

When he leaves, I go to into my house. I go up into my room and grab my phone. I went on Instagram and saw someone dmed me.

I looked into the dm only to see a video sent by the user named @ ekchicasxo which had a selfie in the profile - Erika.

The video was of Thomas and Erika kissing against the door at his house. Wow.

The next thing confused me. She was actually having a conversation with me. Well, I was the one who started the texting.

I shoved my phone away and tried to sleep, ignoring the fact that Erika actually sent anything to me. I didn't even know she had an Instagram with 119 followers.

Jokes on her. I have 120 followers.
