24. new years

Chapter 24: New Years

[ I will stop editing up to here because the chapters are longer than I ever written at the beginning. So please don't judge me about my mistakes, just point them out to me ]

Destiny's POV:

It was now the second to last day of Christmas break. Yay...! Not really. But I was happy that it was New Years Eve.

Thomas and his family, along with Alyssa, Kaya, Dylan, and Ki, we're going to come to my house for a New Years Eve Party.

My cousins and aunts were coming as well. It was 6pm when they all came. Thomas and I were helping my mom cook the food.

Dylan and Kaya were buying some hot dogs and burgers, Alyssa was giggling at a drunken Tim and my Uncle David and Ki was singing.

He was singing one word... and that word was "Badiot." He was singing it in a certain tune. "Yo, Thomas! Pass me some badiot!" He said after he sang his masterpiece, or so he calls it.

"It's pronounced badoit." (A/N: If you watched Ki's snapchat before, you would understand.)

Ki laughs and says," It's Badiot."

Thomas shakes his head. "It's badoit." This time.. I joined the conversation.

"Tom, it's Badiot."

Thomas rolls his eyes. "Don't roll you eyes at me." I say, playfully punching his arm. "Ow! You hurt me."

"Your a big boy, get over it." I say. Thomas laughs and ruffles my hair. "You ruined my hair!"

I pout. Thomas smiles when I fix my hair and then ruffles his hair. "Fireworks!" Drunken Tim screams.

We look outside, but we didn't see fireworks. We then realized the song Fireworks by Katy Perry was on. We soon laughed at Tim. "What....." Tim slurs. We just continue to laugh and pat his shoulder.

I walk over to Thomas and whisper in his ear, " Let's get the fireworks." I grab his arm and pull him to the garage.

No one knew I bought fireworks. "When did you buy these?" Thomas asked as I throw the fireworks in his hands, one by one.

"This afternoon when I said I was going for a walk."

"Oh... well, you could've brought me." Thomas says. " Yeah but it would've ruined the surprise." I say.

"Tom, can you bring these to the backyard? I have to get the.. lighter up thingy." I said. "Sure and that's not what it's called."

"Yeah but I forgot what it's called."

I walk to the door. "Be back." I say. I turn the door knob and walk inside.

I close the door and notice Tim and all my drunken aunts and uncles were dancing. Very awkwardly.

Alyssa was sitting down at a table eating a very big amount of food. "Isn't that a lot of food?" My Aunt Susie asks.

"Well, I am eating for two." She says and smiles. My aunt gasps and says," Congratulations!"

I walk over to the kitchen and look through the drawers. I finally found what I needed and walked outside. Thomas was still outside in the garage, piling the last of the fireworks.

"I'm back." I say, closing the door behind me. "Oh, thank god! I thought you forgot about me." Thomas said. I laugh and so does Thomas. We walk to the backyard and set the fireworks up.

Then we opened all the windows but covered them by the curtains. The music was loud, but good thing it wasn't that loud to annoy the neighbors.

Thomas lit two fireworks at one side of the yard and I did the other side. We walked back to wear we were from the beginning, a little farther from the lit up fireworks.

They flew up in the air with a 'whoosh' and everyone ran outside to look at what made the noise. The fireworks popped and then there was colors everywhere.

"Colorful!" Tim says," Like a unicorn."

I laugh at the end of the sentence. Alyssa does, too. We lit more up and the kids really enjoyed it.

After we all went inside, cleaning the mess tomorrow. "Oh! Tom, I forgot to show you my cousins!" I say and pull his arm.

I showed him Cassie and told him that she loves to read and fangirls over small things in movies or books.

That's why she's my favorite cousin. Then I showed him Carl and Jessie who were both playing Call of Duty and Minecraft on the Xbox.

I never really talked to them because they play on their phones like all the time.

Then, I showed him Wendy who was the really bossy and stuck-up one. She's one year older than me and she thinks she can control me. News-flash, she can't.

"Um.. Wendy?"

She looks up from her phone with an annoyed face. "What?" She spat. "Um.. I wanted you to meet Tom. Or Thomas."

"I don't like new peo..." But she trails off when she sees Thomas.

"Oh." She says in a flirty way. I roll my eyes. "Wendy." She says and she holds out her hand.

She flutters her eyes a lot, like when she wants the boy. Well, she's not going to get him that easily.

"Thomas." Thomas says, shaking her hand. She blushes at the touch of him.

After they pull away, she walks closer to him and I can feel myself tense up. She trails her hand down his chest, trying to feel his abs.

"It's nice to meet y-" But I cut her off saying," Well we have to go!"

She gives me a death glare before Thomas starts to walk away. "He's taken, if you haven't noticed." I whispered and walked away.

I knew she was mad because she was red as a tomato and stomped her foot on the ground. She has a boyfriend anyway.

"What was that all about?" Thomas asked when I caught up to him. "You seriously didn't see?" I ask, arms on my hips.

"See what?" Thomas asked, clearly confused. "She was flirting with you!"

"Oh....." Thomas says. After a while, he smirks. "What?"

"You," He points his finger to my chest," were jealous." I was taken aback by what he said.

"N-no I wasn't." I say. "Your lying." Thomas says, removing his finger.

"No I wasn't." I said, trying to sound confident. "Yeah, you were admit it." Thomas says, his British accent thickening.

"Fine.." I say. Thomas laughs and says," I don't like her. She's not my type, you are. She's.. how do I say it.. don't take it the wrong way.. ugly." Thomas says. I laugh at the last wrong. "That's mean!" I say. Thomas gives me a 'dude' face. "But.. it's absolutely true." I say. We laugh and continue to party.
