The morning light shined on the scurrying mouse that zig zagged its way into a store. A convenience store called Jeffrey's. Inside it were shelves and shelves of all sorts of variety in junk food, beverages, snacks, etc.

The mouse zoomed along the aisle and headed towards the section that read "Kids & Kandies."
The mouse stopped upon the organized pile of Mike and Ike. Then, in the blink of an eye, the mouse had molded into a boy. A short scrawny boy with sandy hair and big beetle eyes. This boy's name was Wassel.

Wassel grabbed one bag of Mike and Ike, and then reached for the brown bag full of Snickers. He hastily opened them and then started munching.

Wassel Simmons was an eight year old boy lived for one thing and one thing only..stealing.
Stealing wasn't only common for him, but it was also more like a profession. And the mutation he had, really helped him on the job.

Wassel moved on to the beverages area. From there he discovered several refreshing Mountain Dews and 7Ups.

Suddenly the door creaked open.
"Hey! Who's in here?"

Wassel quickly chugged down the last of the 7Up and then whispered,
"Time to go!"
He hastily morphed back into the the grey mouse and then scurried away. Passed the unknown feet and through the door.

Amy found the morning walk to be relaxing. It really took her mind off a lot of things. Especially Billy.

The morning air blew on her face as she strolled along the abandoned sidewalk. No one seemed to be around except the several eleven year olds that just past by her randomly.

Amy had walked past a car with a driver whose neck had been snapped off. And then there was the wound covered dog that had been run over. Its dead smell could be wafted from miles away. Amy chose to ignore these two disturbing sights.

Then she came upon a church. Her church. Remirda Town Baptist Church. The building's condition hadn't changed, but something about it seemed lonely.
Amy walked in the church. She walked right on the rugged aisle, past the ruby plush pews. She walked past the pastor's podium and then stopped by the huge wooden cross that hung by the wall.

Having nothing else to do, Amy knelt down and started to pray right in the presence of the cross.

"Dear Almighty God, I hope you take care of the kids without their mom and dad. I hope you feed and shelter the lost, and protect the weak and innocent. Things have gotten really bad since all the adults died off, and I just wish you can bring the kids back together in harmony. I'm hoping there won't be any more troubles and conflicts. Thank you Lord. In Jesus name, Amen."

Amy stood up and then turned around to face the pew.
And surprisingly, several kids were wandering around the church, just staring around.
Two of them were equally facing Amy. One of them was a boy and the other was a girl.

"Is the church opened?" The girl asked.

Amy stood there, dazed. She never actually ran a church before.
"I..uh...I don't know. Who are you guys?"

"My name is Bonnie," said the girl.

"And I'm Vincent," tagged the boy.

They must be siblings, Amy thought.
Then Amy smiled.
"If I were to run this church, would you guys help me?"

Bonnie and Vincent looked at each other excitedly.

"What'd you have in mind?"
