Emmer had left the town hall and sprinted all the way to his house.

He hastily ran up the cobblestone trail of his house and quickly burst in the door. He flicked on the light switch and then started searching around the very small parts of the house.

"It has to be here somewhere," Emmer muttered.

Emmer knew that something weird was happening to the town. And especially to the kids. He's been knowing. But he needed to know more. What could have been the cause to all these mutations? To kids turning into wolves, mice, etc.
And a couple minutes ago, he had just witnessed a kid shoot fire at another kid. He needed some more explanation on this, and more importantly, evidence. A backstory.

And so now he was rummaging in his house, in hopes of finding a laptop. But so far, he's found nothing.

"Where could it be?"

Then he ran upstairs and started rummaging up there. Nothing.

But then he saw a small light shimmer on his face. He turned to find a door open, a door that led to a lit room. His parent's bedroom.

Emmer calmly walked in there, creaking the door wide open as he walked in. And several minutes of looking into the room, he found it.
On the bed of his parents, he found a MacBook and a notebook resting peacefully on it. Emmer ran to it and began examining it.

The MacBook had been opened to a Google search page, and the notebook was already opened to reveal writings and illustrations on it.

Emmer could only guess who had been there. His dad, Andy Golwyn. But what was he looking for?

Emmer chose to look at the MacBook first.

The Google search had been set on "aliens" and down below was a purple web link that had already been clicked. Emmer clicked on it.
The link led to a website that was titled "Green Explainables"
And below that was an article.

"Zaragost and mutations?" Emmer whispered, reading the title of the article.
Emmer continued reading and this was what it read:

Zaragost. As you're reading this, you're probably asking yourself, "what the hell is a Zaragost?" Well, I've come to tell you.
A few days ago, I've spent my time searching up diseases, and upon my search I came up to the Zaragost disease. And due to my bounded curiosity, I searched up the disease. And this was what it told me: Zaragost was a mysterious disease back in the 1900s. Several astronomers had caught it during a space flight, and when they had come back down they had begun to spread the disease to the innocent civilians down on earth. The disease had become so strong, that people needed to be quarantined and contaminated. But after several decades, the disease had worn off and everyone had eventually forgot about it. In fact, nobody even talked about it. The word Zaragost came from the scientist who discovered the disease, Ronald Zaragost.

So there it is guys, the history and backstory. But what has been bothering me was the thing that fell out of the sky. I was sitting in my bedroom when I saw a weird figure come out of the sky. And I've been wondering, could the Zaragost disease be repeating history? Could it possibly be reoccurring in Remirda Town as we speak? And more importantly, could this disease have mutated?

Emmer finished the article and then paused for a moment.
The dead adults, the mutant kids, and a mysterious figure in the sky. Could it all have to do with a disease?

Emmer moved on to the notebook and began to scan it. He could tell the messy cursive-ness was his dad's own writing.

I can't tell anyone about this. What would Emmer think? What would Macey think? People would think I'm crazy! I need to keep this to myself. Only I have to find the cure and stop the aliens. If I don't, this world might just end as we know it.

Emmer looked below the writing. It was an accurately drawn picture of a two legged creature with slime coming down its chest. Next to it the drawing was an initial that read ZD. And below that was a scribbled rectangle with four dots in it.

Emmer tapped his glasses.
Well ZD stood for the Zaragost disease, so that one was simple. And since the ZD was next to the drawing, it must mean the disease had mutated in an alien.

"Zaragost alien," Emmer whispered, having no other name to call the creature.

But what was the four dotted rectangle?
Right!
The rectangle represented the area they were in. And the four dots had to be pods. Pods of where the Zaragost aliens could be. It all made sense now.
No wonder all the adults had the green goo in their mouths. No wonder why the kids were mutating, and why he has been seeing weird figures around. Aliens. That was the answer.
But still, it left one question unanswered. How did it affect what happened to you when you turned eighteen?

Emmer was about to lay the notebook down when he heard a deep thump thump thump. Someone was in the house. No, something was in the house.

The door slammed open and three dark green creatures stomped in. They had sharp claws all over their body and decayed skin with yellow teeth. And more importantly, they were headed in Emmer's direction.

Emmer was stuck. He had nowhere to run. So he did the next best thing.

"Help!!!!!!!"
