Damich, Gus, and Crow stopped by the small, stout building. The Pain n Pill pharmacy.
"You sure this will work?" Gus asked.
"Do you have any other suggestions?" Damich snipped.
For the past five hours, Damich and Gus have been receiving these searing headaches. They didn't know where it had come from, but it happened. And it had been Damich who thought of of getting some pills.
"How many bottles of aspirin do you think is in there?" Gus asked stupidly.
"It a fucking store dumbass," Crow piped. "It's going to filled."
"Let's go already," Damich urged. "We're wasting time."
The three of them quickly snuck into the pharmacy, and silently closed the door behind them. And more importantly, not even sighting the police car behind them.
*************************Don had already seen what he needed to see. He didn't even have to blink. He turned away from the wheel and shook his boss.
"Doug, Doug! Wake up damn it!"
Doug slowly opened his crusty eyes and un-reclined his seat.
"What is it?"Don tried to explain the situation clearly. There was no need for stuttering.
"I-I just saw a bunch of kids run into that pharmacy. They were going to steal some pills, I heard them say it."Doug put on his sunglasses and clipped on his sheriff badge to his suit. This sort of made him look ridiculous and childish, but at the same time awkwardly serious about what he was doing.
Then he grabbed the pistol that was lying near the the cup holders."Get your stuff and wake up the others," Doug said. "We have some business to take care of."
Don stretched his hands in the backseat and tried to shake his friends.
"Eddie, Chris, wake up! Edwin you too!"Once everyone was wide awake and ready, they stepped out of the police car and dramatically walked into the pharmacy in some corny posse.
Doug had been carrying a pistol. Don and Eddie were carrying rifles, and Chris and Edwin were carrying clubs. They were all armed, and seemed completely fearless.
Doug busted the door open with his feet and quickly ran in.
"Who's in here? Show yourselves or we'll shoot!"Silence. Accompanied without a response.
"He's not joking!" Eddie tagged.
Nothing. Just dark quietness.
"Let's search the store," Don suggested. "I'll pair up with Edwin and Chris. You can go with Eddie."
Doug nodded. "Good idea. Alright everyone, move out!"
The five of them suddenly dispersed into groups and departed into different directions of the pharmacy.
***************************Don held on his rifle tightly as he walked down the cough syrup aisle. Everything was dark and nothing was to be seen. Nothing but the sour smell of medicine.
THWAPP!!
One of the shelves instantly fell down with a crash.
"What was that?" Chris asked, now trembling.
Don quickly fluttered his head around.
"I guess someone's here after all." He whispered.Don firmly held his rifle and began to aim.
He began to to move backwards in a slow motion."Okay guys, move back!" Don ordered.
Chris and Edwin quickly shifted to Don's side.
A shadow flashed by them.
"Did anyone see that?" Edwin asked.
"Everyone stay close, we need to head back to Doug." Don muttered.
Out of nowhere, two yellow eyes appeared in front of them. Then it tumbled forward. Closer and closer and closer, until the eyes had a body of its own. A body of a scraggly wolf.
Beside the wolf was a slithering snake and a smug boy.Don, Chris, and Edwin were paralyzed.
The wolf grinned, showing off its clumpy yellow canine teeth.
"Hey Gus, they're scared." The wolf teethed.
"How ironic," the snake hissed. It slithered and slithered around until it coiled itself around the wolf's leg.
Don, realizing how freaky this was, shrieked out loud.
"Doug!!!!!!!!!!"
************************Doug was standing in the third aisle with an indifferent expression on his face. He was examining a red Tylenol box when he heard someone call out his name.
"Doug!!!!!!!!!!"
It mimicked in his head. And he instantly knew this was a distress signal."Eddie, Don is in trouble! Come on!"
The two of them ran out of the pain & relief aisle and swerved their way towards the other aisles.
They searched and searched until they spotted a trembling Don.
"What happened?"
Don's rifle was on the tiled floor and his knobby knees were shaking.
"Don, speak." Doug enunciated.
"They were here." Chris muttered.
Doug turned to Chris. Information was vital at this point.
"Who was?""Damich and his friends." Edwin stated. "Who else?"
"They looked weird and freaky," Chris said. "Kind of like they were mutated. One was a wolf and the other was a snake."
"But they left," Edwin said. "And stole most of the pills here."
"How do you know that?" Doug asked.
"Look for yourself," Doug said, now finding that he was regaining his voice.
He pointed to a tall shelf with fallen bottles of Advil, Ecotrin, and Bayer.
Doug crossed his arms and sighed.
"Great. So they've really escaped."The five of them stood there in silence. In the blue darkness which sort of made them look like silhouettes from a hidden angle.
"You have to tell Arch about this," Eddie said.
"I will." Doug murmured.
"And you know what else?"
"What?"
"You need to start writing laws."
