I've decided to write an AU but it's not a high school one. It's called In The Midst Of War, if you want to check it out.

WPOV:

When I wake up, Nico is already out of bed, which is odd. I walk into the kitchen and see him standing at the sink, cleaning an empty bowl. I walk up behind him and wrap my arms around his waist, making him jump slightly.

"Sorry. I didn't mean to startle you." I say.
"It's okay." He replies. He puts the bowl down and turns so he's facing me.
"Will..." He looks into my eyes. "I'm going to see Percy."

"But-"
"I have to do this." He says quietly.
"Okay." I breathe. "I'll go with you."
"Thanks." He gives me a quick kiss, then slips under my arm. "I'm going to get changed." He tells me, walking off.
"Okay." I nod.

I'm so worried. What if Percy tries to hurt him? What if Nico has a flashback? So many things could go wrong...

"Will, calm down." Nico says from the doorway. I didn't realise I was pacing until he mentioned it. I stop and sigh.
"I'm just so worried..."
"Don't be. I can take care of myself." He walks closer and I notice he's wearing completely plain black clothes.
"Really?" I raise an eyebrow. "You can take care of yourself?"
"Yes. I managed I stay alive in a bad neighbourhood with Percy constantly using me as a punching bag for three years, so I think I can handle seeing him one more time."

"But-"
"There will be guards, and we will be separated by bulletproof glass. I've already checked."
"Wait, you called them already?" I ask incredulously.
"Yes."
"Without me?"
"Yes." He repeats.
"But..." What can I say? "Okay." I sigh.

"Thanks." Nico kisses my cheek and takes my hand. We walk outside into the rain.
"This rain has got to be a bad omen." I say. Nico raises an eyebrow.
"I don't believe in superstition." He tells me indifferently. I sigh and follow him through the rain, getting into the car.
"Do you know the way?" Nico asks.
"No." I admit.
"I do. I'll tell you where to go."
"How do you know the way?"
"I asked them for directions." He shrugs. "I'm very good at remembering stuff."
"Okay..."

Other than Nico saying where to go, we drive in silence. When we arrive, he takes a shaky breath, like he's doubting his decision. I walk up to him and take his hand, rubbing my thumb along the back of his hand. "I'll be right here." I tell him. He nods and walks in, with me beside him.
"Well," he says, "no backing out now."
