"I'm telling you, I'm not lying. My parents did disappear into thin air!"
The officer's voice became harsh and angry. "Look, kid. The next time you call and pull a stunt like that again, Juvie is what you get. Goodbye."
She groaned, exasperated. "No, I'm telling the truth. Some magical light formed, and poof! They were gone."
There was no answer, the man hung up and Jule sighed. She felt like crying, She witnessed her parents disappearance yesterday and didn't know what to do about it. They were gone, and she knew she couldn't live without them.
She threw her phone on the bed, ignoring the text from Shari of her coming over in an hour. She got up and walked out her bedroom to the bathroom down the hall.
This would usually be when her mother yelled breakfast, and her dad moving from the couch to go and compliment her on a job well done. Afterwards, they would fondle with each other and Jule would gag and and walked to the bathroom for a shower. She sure as hell wished they did that now, instead of being gone.
Ten minutes later, she got out the shower, wrapping a towel around herself. She frowned as she looked over herself, she supposed she could go nude around the house now that no one was in it except her.
Shrugging, her unwrapped her towel revealing her nude body to exactly...no one. Walking in her room, she went over to her dresser and pulled out any piece of clothing she could grab.
Seeing she had grabbed a sundress, she immediately shoved it back and walked over to her chest. She pulled out a white sleeveless t shirt that engraved "Play Hard" on it and small cut off blue shorts to put on. When she did, she got out the bedrooms and over to the kitchen to grab a bag of cheeze it and got out of her home.
She couldn't stay to wait for Shari, or go to prom at all. She needed space, and that wouldn't help unless she walked. She took a look at at her parents car, and huffed. She felt like crying all over again, and she hardly does that. She needed them. She needed to find them.
They disappeared in a flick of light when they touched each other's fingers. Jule didn't know of they were dead, but she hasn't find out. The police wouldn't help her, and she knew that was going to happen to. Like who in the world would believe that a child's parents disappeared in a flick of light? She the hell wouldn't.
She headed to the library, hoping she would find something. Within fifteen minutes on foot, she arrived, and quickly walked in there to the desk where the librarian sat. She slammed her hands on it, needing the librarian's immediate attention.
The librarian slowly looked up from her computer, to glare at her. But she didn't care, she needed help.
"Yes?"
"I need any books on magic or whatever."
The woman adjusted her glasses, eyebrows furrowing. She pointed to somewhere in the back. "Over there."
Jule looked over, and it was tough to know exactly where she meant. There were too many aisles, bins of books. She looked back at the woman, wide eyed. "Could you show me exactly where?"
The woman looked back at the computer, and began typing. "No."
"Why not?"
"Because I already did."
This woman was beginning to irritate her, she was rude and negligent. "Look, I don't what you're tal- "
"Leave."
Jule widened her eyes, she never knew a rude librarian. Her fingers itched to throw a book at her. Her parents were gone, and she gets attitude. She wasn't going give up though. Just as she opened her mouth to ask another answer, she stopped when she heard something interesting.
