Her clothes were almost dry, since her and Ace had been walking in the sun for hours.

He hadn't said anything since they had gotten out of the water, glaring silently. At some point she wanted to start a conversation, but couldn't find herself to speak. It's shocking, but it was too awkward to say anything.

She couldn't understand exactly why he was upset, they managed to survive. Thankfully. She sighed, looking elsewhere. Since he wasn't going to talk, neither was she.

After a few more hours of walking, the sky began to change color. It was getting dark, and she couldn't take the silence anymore. She tapped his shoulder, again despite his warning not to.

He turned his head to face, glaring. "You really need to stop doing that."

Jule sighed in relief, satisfied he finally spoke. She stopped tapping, walking right beside him. "I would, but you're quiet and its starting to creep me out."

He looked back straight ahead, gulped. "Just thinking."

Jule arched an eyebrow, shocked. "For hours?"

He spoke quietly, solemn. "Its possible."

Jule nodded, she wanted to say more. But she had a feeling that if she did, things might get worse. She gave an exaggerated sigh, she hated this. He was getting distant, and she didn't even know him that well. She couldn't possibly understand why he was upset all of a sudden.

Soon he stopped walking, and Jule frowned as she looked around. They were in the middle of the woods, and it was dark. And she did not want to be anywhere near creepy, yet in the dark woods its creepy. She stared at the trees, they looked old and flaky.

She squinted at one that caught her eye, there was a brownish red some kind of sap spilling very slowly out of a hole in the tree. She knew there were maple trees, but never discovered this. It was weird, yet interesting. Fascinated, she reached out to touch it. Hoping it would be sweet.

Suddenly her hand was yanked away, and the next thing she knew, she was facing Ace. His eyes were wide, and full of anger. She was going to roll her eyes, when she saw that they were also filled with worry. "Don't touch that."

"Why?" Jule asked, awkwardly removing her hands from his grasp. Ace gulped, looking down as he wiped his hands on his pants.

Jule was now becoming scared, she didn't get what was wrong with him. She was going to confront him about it, when he looked up, pointing to the sap she had almost touched.

"That," he spoke cautiously, "is going to kill you."

"How?" Jule asked, looking at it herself.

Ace sighed before he walked away, and picked up a twig on the ground. Jule crossed her arms, and stared as he walked back to the tree, putting the twig under the pouring sap. She couldn't get why that a- oh. When he pulled the twig out, it melted. Leaving a burnt mark on what was left of the twig, she opened her mouth in shock. Although she shouldn't be, this world was probably filled flying mice for all she knew.

"How can you live in here?" Jule asked, looking around in undeniable disbelief.

She heard a faint snicker, and whipped her head towards that direction, even more shocked. He laughed, after all the awkward silence, he laughed. She would've pissed if she wasn't so glad that was he warming up to her.

"Ace, you're laughing." Jule stated, slowly plastering a wide smile on her face. "You laughed."

Ace looked away, and she knew he was smiling. She snickered, tiptoeing behind him quietly. Scaring him would be hilarious, especially if he was out of his mood. Just as she would've hollered to scare him, he turned and clamped a hand over her mouth.
