Jule stood outside of a...pawn shop. She couldn't believe it, the weird book gave her an address to a pawn shop.
Jule glared at the book. "What the hell? A pawn shop? What kind of guardian would work at pawn shop?"
She was waiting for a response of some sort, like shaking. She turned it over. Nothing. She opened to the page. The words were perfectly normal the way it was when she first read the story. "What kind of thing is this?"
She shook her head as she opened the door to the shop. A bell rung as she opened it, indicating that she was actually in it. She eyed the bell, in case it wanted to tell her something too. "Yeah, thanks. I know I'm here too."
"Why are you talking to a bell?"
Jule looker over at whoever had said that, she saw a very handsome guy behind a glass counter. He had green eyes as shiny as an emerald, blond hair disheveled looking as if he were was messing with it for hours, and slight cleft chin. Yep he was handsome, but young. She wasn't expecting to find a guy who looked around her age, but a little bit older.
She frowned as she pointed at him. "Aren't you a little too old to be a guardian?"
He stared at her as if she were mental. "A what?"
"A guardian," she stepped forward, looking around the shop, it looked as old as it could get, "you know, the protector of some sort."
He frowned, eyeing her skeptically. "Protector?"
Jule started toying with a bobble she saw on a brown shelf. "Yeah, the book told me to find you."
"Are you okay?" She looked at him, to see he had grabbed his phone. "Do you need help?"
Jule walked towards him, slamming her hands on the counter. He scooted back a few step, eyeing her. "Don't. I don't need help, the book seriously did tell me to find you. Gave me the address, and everything." Jule placed the book on the counter, and opened to the page of the story. "Here."
The guy cautiously looked from her to the book, reading the title. "The Forbidden Touch From The Abyss?" He looked up at her, still eyeing her skeptically. "How could that tell you to come here and find me?"
Jule groaned, he didn't get it. Sadly, she doesn't expect him to. But still, the book said it and it was the only clue she got. "You know the legend?"
He gave her a stern look. "Lady, you're crazy. Get out before I call the police."
Jule glared, she wasn't going to tell let this go without a fight. She was so close to having a breakdown, and right now that isn't what she needed. She needed this guy to believe her, even if it sounded crazy.
"Look, I lost my parents yesterday. They disappeared right in front of me, this legend of this so called magical touch, is what my mother and father did to each other. They're gone, and I need to find them. I went to the library to look for anything that had something to do with a magical touch, and found this book. I read the story, and it somehow told me in big black letters to find you. The Guardian of Neco, whatever that is. They said he would help, and right now I see you. I want you to help me, guardian."
The guy stood there, silent. Jule waited for some type of response, anything. She didn't get any.
Ugh! She wanted to scream, this guy is clueless and the book was wrong. Honestly, what was she thinking? How could a book tell her where to find help? She must've been seeing things, and this poor guy that she was crazy.
Just when she was going to turn around and leave, the guy sighed and motioned for her to follow him. She blinked, wondering if this were for real. If this guy was actually going to show her something. He began to walk away, and open a brown door. He held it for her to follow, and she just stood there. Motionless.
