I stretch my aching arms out and slowly lift myself up from the couch. I open my eyes and take a look around the room, the TV is still on playing some random show. I grab the remote off of the ground where I had left it last night and turn the TV off. Throwing the remote next to me on the couch, I swing my legs off the couch and sliding the blankets off my legs. I glance at the cable box underneath the TV that is mounted on the wall. The clock reads 3:53 which is normal for me, I've been having trouble sleeping for the longest time. My doctor has put me on numerous medication but they have never really worked out for me,

I stand up and stager my way to the kitchen. Walking around looking like a dead person, slapping the wall in the hopes to hit the light switch. I hit the switch and shield my eyes with my arm. Squinting my eyes, I open up the fridge and rummage through it in the search of something to eat.

I take out a 2 liter bottle of Brisk Ice Tea and I grab 2 mozerlla cheese sticks, I walk over to the cupboard and grab a mason glass. I set the glass by the bottle of ice tea, I struggle to unscrew the cap by being half asleep. I finally open the cap and put it down on the counter, I tip the bottle and let the tea pour out of the opening and into the glass. I unwrap a cheese stick and start to peel the cheese downward.

Lazily I put the stings of cheese in my mouth, and take sips of my tea. It being around almost 4 in the morning, the neighborhood was quite quiet which is perfect for looking at the stars. My dad, mom, and I use to do it all the time when I was younger and found it quite relaxing. I toss my cup into the sink and throw away the cheese wrappers into the trash bin. I grab a sweater that was hanging off the dinning table chair that is in the kitchen and slip it over my head, walking into the living and opening the side door which is located next to mounted TV. I step out and into the chilly environment, I silently close the door behind me and I wrap my arms around my torso. I walk around the patio area and settle down in a anrondeck chair that is still wet from the torrential rain earlier and look up at the sky. There is not a cloud in sky and the stars burn in the night sky, I always create an image with the stars I try to make a butterfly or some cute thing out of stars. But I have never succeed.

Staring at the sky while the stars shine through darkness, I start to drift into thoughts of the case. I'm trying to remember on how to handle certain situations, I haven't had a case in a while which I'm happy that I got one. But what if this requires more authorities than just a reporter. I mean what power do I really have? Nothing, all I have is a badge to show people that I work for the press. And if something goes wrong I am suppose to call for authority's and have them settle it but I can't do anything. Which is something I don't agree with but other than that I like my job.

After a while I begin to feel more drowsy and my eyelids are getting heavier with every blink. I soon close my eyes and drift into a deep slumber.

---

I open my eyes quickly but shut them as I was greeted by the sun. I sit up and rub my closed eyes, I move my head to look down and I open my eyes and let them adjust to the lighting. I stand up and trudge to the door and throw it open and stumble through it.

I look at the cable box and my eyes widen. 7:29. I have to be at work by 8, I don't have much time. I bolt to the stairs and drag my body up them, I barge into my room and go straight to my hair/makeup section. And I start to drag the brush through my hair that is tangled with knots everywhere. I spray some anti-tangle spray into my hair and fight the knots.

After a war against my hair, I win. Not really in the mood to do makeup I change out of my sleep clothes and throw a bra on along with some leggings and a simple long sleeve black shirt with a small pocket near my left boob. I smooth out my shirt and look at my appearance, happy with how I look I throw on a pair of black vans and tie the laces. I run out of my room and down the stairs, I grab my phone which was by the couch. I run into the mud room and grab my bag and toss my phone in it, I grab my coat and drape it over my arm.

I open the door to the garage and step through it, I walk up to my car and open the door and plop myself in the driver seat. I put my bag in the passenger seat and close the door. I lean over and look through the bag and snatch out the keys. I open my garage door, I put the keys into the ignition and start the car. I slowly back out and as I am out of the garage I close it's door, I stop and grab my phone from the bag and put it on the AUX chord. I hit shuffle not caring what comes on, but I have to have noise fill the space.

As I'm pulling out onto the road I hear the familiar intro to Save Rock'n Roll by Fall Out Boy ooze out of the speakers. I hum the words as I focus on driving down the stretch of road.

The drive to work seem to be a blur and a mixture of different songs blended together. The scenery is the same, passing cars I've seen very often. I pull into the buildings parking lot and find myself a suitable spot. I turn off my car and throw my keys and phone into my bag. I swing open my door and step out, I reach in and grab my bag and jacket and close the door once I'm out. I walk slowly up to the front doors and use all my strength to open the door. I walk through and check in at the receptionist in the front office.

I walk to my desk and turn my computer on and let it start up, I look at the office phone on my desk and notice a red light flashing meaning that I have a new voicemail. I set my bag on the right side of my desk on the floor along with my jacket. I pick up the phone and hit the voicemail button.

"You have one new voicemail. New voicemail at 2:17am. Hey it's Gabby, I'm calling to say I'm hearing the noises at the moment and I would like you to note it down. I'm currently hearing a girl screaming and she is screaming the word no over and over. And I hear the loud bangs and a whole lot of glass shattering, more glass than usual. Just thought I might tell you. Call me back when you can, bye. End of new message."

I put the phone between my shoulder and ear as I'm writing down what she has told me. My hand writing being sloppy but not caring, I finish jotting it down. My computer finally turns on and search the computer for her file, I find it and quickly type the new info in.

October 8th, 2:17am

A female screaming out the word no over and over. More glass shattering, more than usual. Along with loud bangs.

I save the file and decide to call her back, I take the phone out from between my shoulder and ear and hit the redial button on the machine. After a few rings, someone picks the phone.

"Hello?" I hear a man come through the phone.

"Hello, I'm Deanna and I'm looking for Gabriella."

"One minute thank you." I hear the phone fumble then I hear the man call out "Hey honey, Who's Deanna?" I can't hear the rest but I hear the fumble some more along with some mumbles.

"Hi! Sorry that was my husband Abraham. I'm guessing you got my message, right?"

"Yes I did and I appreciate that you called and gave me some information. I actually have a few more questions to ask if you don't mind?"

"Oh no, go ahead sweetie. Ask me anything."

"Alright, uh you have another neighbor near you right?"

"Yes we do. He's an older gentleman in his early-mid seventies, his name is Alex."

"Have you discussed about the disturbances amongst you two?"

"We have, one though. We didn't really talk about, he asked if I hear the noise too and I told him yes and he dropped the subject."

"If I were to go talk to him, would he be willing to give me some details?"

"I would believe so, he's not a stubborn person that you have to pry it out. I'm sure he would cooperate with you."

"Thank you, again if you hear anything make sure to call alright? Well have a good day."

"You too, bye." With that she hangs up. I put the phone on the receiver. I lean back in my chair and sigh, I really do wonder what is going on in that house. I need Alex to work with me, maybe he's knows something that Gabby doesn't and it maybe useful or complete shit. Well I know where I what I'm gonna do today, and let's hope I dig a bit deeper.
