"This is a bad idea," I tell Jared once we get into his car.
"Everything new seems like a bad idea until we get used to it. So I may seem like a bad idea until you get used to me," he says winking at me.
"Oh my gosh, cut the deep crap. It's getting old." I don't know if he is trying to turn me on with his deep thoughts, but it's honestly the most annoying thing ever. He's just trying to woo me over and blah blah blah. Ugh, he needs a new hobby.
"I think the reason why you're so hateful towards me is because you're afraid of falling for me. It just occurred," he says starting his car. This leaves me speechless. He thinks I'm afraid of falling for him. It's more like I'll never fall for him and can't stand the cocky gleam in his eyes.
"I'm not afraid of falling it's just you're the same as any other player I've seen. You also can't expect me to like you if you're forcing this weird relationship we have upon me," I tell him as he drives us out of the school parking lot.
He apparently lives really close to school because we got to his house a silent minute later.
As I start to make my way to the door he says," No no no. Let's go through my window up there."
"The window," I ask gesturing to the window on the second floor.
     "Yes the window."
     "Why?"
     "Because it's fun."
     "No, it's stupid."
"Come on Emma, live a little."
"I'm alive aren't I? I live everyday." He gives me a look of annoyance after my smart aleck comment. "Fine."
"You'll like it, trust me," he says.
"Who says I haven't done this before?"
     "You've done this before wallflower?"
"No," I say before biting my lip. "Don't assume that just because I'm a wallflower I don't try things for myself. It makes me feel more irritated to the person, even if I like them. But with you, you're just digging your own grave."
"Okay, I won't assume. No need to lash out on the new guy trying to help a girl get out of her shell," he says before starting to climb the closest tree to his window.
"What's the point of this," I ask him when he reaches the roof.
"No point," he says opening his window. "Just kidding I forgot the keys inside."
"Idiot," I mumble. "Wait, you don't lock your window?"
"At night I do. During the day I don't just in case something like this happens."
"Okay Jared, can you go inside and unlock the door downstairs?"
     "No."
     "Jared!"
"I said 'no' sweetheart," he says giving me a cheeky smile.
"This is not a way to get me to like you. It's only making me think you're more irritating," I shout.
"You won't know you like it unless you try," he points out.
     "I already know I don't like it."
     "You haven't even tried."
     "This looks disastrous!"
"Life is disastrous! You don't know what to expect before you do something. You may think you do, but you really don't. You only know after the fact." I look up at the tree. It's not that intimidating. I don't know if I'm making a bigger deal than what it needs to be. He does have a point to this even though what I'm about to do is completely pointless since he is too lazy to go down the stairs and unlock the door.
"Okay Jared, I'm on my way."
