Jared's POV

"It's actually quite pretty up here," Emma says softly. I can't tell if she's talking to herself since it was so quiet or if she was trying to say it to get me to talk.
"It is," I respond. When she gives me a weird look I realize that it was option one that she was aiming for. But whatever, she said it out loud.
"Why are you staring at me?"
Oops. I guess I was staring at her. "Sorry."
"Whatever," she laughs. "What are we eating?"
       "Food."
"No," she says sarcastically. My first instinct is to reach for her hand but then I realize she's not my girlfriend. It's kind of weird because I usually get all the girls I want. I guess with Emma it's going to take her a little longer. "So what are your reasons? I want to know why you won't let me do my own thing."
"The only thing I can say right now, is that you're special. You won't understand until you fall in love with me."
"Jared," she sighs. "I'd rather date Victor." His name makes me cringe.
"Victor? Ugh," I say feeling like I'm about to barf.
"And I'm not attracted to Victor. That says a lot."
         "Seriously," I whine.
"Yeah," she says before plopping a grape in her mouth.
Geez this woman is ruthless. Especially with me. What the hell did I do to her besides give her attention? Oh wait- that must be it.

After the rather boring dinner since all we did was eat in awkward silence we started running to my car. It started off with tag until we got closer and that was when it was the last one there is a rotten egg. Or tomato as Emma calls it.
I let Emma win because it wouldn't be gentlemanly if I kicked her butt which I can easily do.
"Hey! Why did you let me win," she asks punching my arm.
        "What?"
"Totally obvious," she says before shoving me into the bushes.
"Ah," I shout. Ouch. All these branches! She is stronger than I thought. I stand up and start to brush all the leaves off me.
         "Spider," she shouts.
"Where," I shout pulling off my jacket and flinging it at her.
"No where," she laughs. "But if there was one, would you really throw it at me?!"
"Oh," I say taking my jacket back. "No..."
"Uh-huh, sure," she says opening up the car door. "Let's go, you're not as bad as I thought you were Jared. You're actually pretty fun."
"Only because you made me look like an idiot," I point out.
It looks like she's contemplating for a minute before she says," Maybe that too." Even if she's not considering me her date, she's the best date I've ever had.
