"Where are we going now," I ask Jared as we drive away from the fair, leaving his group of friends behind. After kissing Stephen, I'm not so sure I want to face them just yet.
"It's a surprise," he says a smirk appearing on his face which ends up causing me to smile. I quickly rub my lips together to stop myself from smiling and try to appear somewhat annoyed that he won't tell me.
He glances over at me for a second before returning back to staring at the road. "You know Emma, it's okay to smile."
Thank god! He didn't see me smile when he smirked! That would have been A embarrassing and B terrible because he wouldn't let me hear the end of it.
"How much longer?"
"Impatient are we?"
"Stop making fun of me," I shout playfully. He softy chuckles to himself and continues to focus on the road. Maybe he is cute. Wait! No no no. He is cute but not my type, there we go."School?"
"Yes Emma. Not impressed?"
"Nope. This is terrible. We're not going to vandalize it right?"
"Emma, do I look like a criminal to you?"
"First appearance? Heck yeah," I say while crossing my arms. He mimics me.
"Emma, what happened to starting over?"
"We did and we are. Remember, I tend to judge people before getting to know them," I say playfully pushing him. God Emma! Don't touch him idiot!
"It's a terrible habit, sweetheart."
"Oh my god Jared!"
"Sorry sorry. Let's go to the top of the school. The fun is just beginning."
"Stephen isn't up there is he?"
Jared sighs and looks at me. "Emma relax. It's just a dinner on the roof."
"A dinner? No," I say realizing that he made this whole thing be a date.
"Why not?"
"You made this a date! Without asking the girl if she would like to go! And for the record she would say 'no' like she is now."
"Emma, just go with it."
"Why?"
"Why? Why. Hmm, how about you get to know me, and then you'll know why. How's that?"
"Terrible," I say without thinking. First instinct, cool. I'm not just convincing myself otherwise, I'm actually feeling it.
"Emma, just do it. Everything with you is pretty complicated coming from a wallflower."
"The reason why is because I've seen it all. I've seen-"
"I'll know your reason when you know mine. Fair enough," he says slightly pushing me towards the school. "Let's go."Thank you so much for reading this so far! I'm so sorry I haven't been writing, busy with homework, school, etc. More is on the way so yay! Thanks for reading!! :)
