"I can't believe this trip is happening! I've waited all year to do this," Evelyn squeals as Victor starts the car. Evelyn, Victor, Jared, and I are all going to Rio Del Mar for the summer. Originally it was just Evelyn, Victor, and I but Jared's my boyfriend so he kinda has to go hahaha. I'm kidding, he is totally invited to come.
"I know me too," Victor says mimicking her high pitched voice. Evelyn is about to smack his arm when he adds," Hey, I'm driving."
"Ugh," she groans while throwing her hands in the air.
"How much longer," Jared whines.
"Geez, grumpy already," I say playfully. He remains silent and I simply shrug my shoulders. This should be fun.***
Wow is the only way to describe the house we will be staying in. The house is cross between petite and adorable to big and extravagant.
I drop my bags and start to look around in awe of everything. Jared is close behind me. Once we get into one of the bedrooms he closes the door.
I quickly snap my head around to see him. My body then follows my head's lead.
"Emma, can we talk?"
"Yes," I say skeptically. Oh no, he's going to break up with me isn't he? I don't want that!
"Umm, there's something I need to tell you."
"And that is?"
As he's about to say what he needs to Victor opens the door. "Doors open at all time kids."
I roll my eyes and say," Grow up."
Victor gives me a cheesy smile before he says," Evelyn and I are ready for dinner. Let's go."
"Okay," I say walking towards Victor.
"You're going to go with them and not stay with me," Jared snaps.
"What," I ask turning around to face him. Since when is he all clingy?
"You'd rather hang out with your friends than your boyfriend?"
"You're not going?" When he gives me a "duh" look I quickly add," Oh. What's this about?"
"Nothing. Pretend I didn't say anything."
"But you did-"
"No I didn't," he snaps.
"I'll meet you in the car," Victor says leaving awkwardly.
"You never used to care! And why are you bringing this up now?"
"Isn't it obvious?"
"Isn't what obvious!"
"That I love you!" His words silence the room. Well there is only two of us so it silences me.
"No you don't," I say backing away.
"Yes Emma, I do."
"We've only been dating for like a month," I point out.
"So?"
"So I know you don't love me."
"Emma," he says with a harsh grin on his face," It's not that I don't love you, you don't love me."
"Wait that's not fair! You can't call me out on how I feel."
"But it's true though isn't it?"
"No! I-"
"So it's true that-"
"I don't know okay! We're only eighteen, we don't know anything. Plus we've been only dating for a month. You can't know you love someone when you've only known them for a month."
"Emma go with your friends. I'll talk to you later."
"No but-"
"Just go."
"I can't leave you like this Jared! With no closure to this conversation."
"Well Victor's waiting so-"
"I don't have to go! I'm not leaving you when we haven't resolved this conversation."
"Emma-"
"Just stop. If I'm going with Victor, so are you," I say walking towards him.
"No."
"Yes."
"No."
"Yes."
"No."
"Jared!"
"Fine."
"Whipped," I say poking his cheek. My words seem to have sunken in because he's now blushing.
"Am not."
"Mhmm, sure."
"You know what, screw it. I love you and would do anything for you. You can call me whipped because I'm your whipped cream and you're my cherry."
"Interesting way to put it," I say laughing as I put my arms around his neck.
"You know you love it," he says before he kisses me.
