"No no it wasn't like that!" Cora cried. Jay sat next to her smiling. "No yeah it was." He argued with her. She smiled up at him.
"Well no it wasn't!" He said again. Whilst they continued to argue about God knows what, I craned my neck to see Jasper walking into the cafeteria. He was frowning and his hands were clenched into fists. He slid onto the chair next to me. "Jas what's wrong?" I whisper. He shakes his head, "nothing"

I glare at him. "Jasper that may work on everyone else, but it doesn't work on me." I hiss. "Don't worry about it." He said before engaging in a conversation with Flynn to show that the conversation was over.

Oh but it wasn't. I will find out.

"Fine." I whisper to him. I know he herd me but he didn't say anything and continued to ignore me. I stood up and emptied my tray. "Where are you going?" Jasper asked louder so the whole table was looking at us. "Um, to the library. I have study hall next." I say curtly. Everyone waves good bye. But Jasper stands up. "I'll come with you." I shake my head but he still follows.

We walk in silence. "Why did you lie?" He asked. I give him a confused look. "Why did you lie?" He repeated, "lie?" I said. "I've memorized your schedule. And you don't have study hall after." He answers. "So know we are even." I say stopping. "Even?" "You lie to me I lie to you."

Jasper grimaces, "no cleo I'm trying to keep you safe." "From what. Are you like batman.?" He shakes his head.
"Spider-Man?"
"No."
"Oh I know the hulk?"
"Na"
"Um Thor?"
"Is that the best you can come up with?"
"Wait! Iron man?"
He laughs and shakes his head. "I'm trying to keep you safe by not telling you." "Not telling me what?" I ask curiously.

"It's a secret." He said before walking off.

"A secret" I repeated to myself.
