Today was the big day. First day at a new school.

I can do it. Gosh I sound like something from Dora

Whatever

Climbing out of bed I stretched out my arms, almost popping my arm sockets. Glancing out my window I checked to make sure I didn't have an audience. I peered through my wardrobe wondering what to wear,

Do I want to make an impression?

Deciding against It, I shrugged on one of my favorite t shirts and blue skinny jeans. My T-shirt was in fact one of my mothers. Her mother was from Australia and so my mum spent her life out in the outback. She was Australian herself. Whilst living there she had come accustom to supporting the local footy teams. And ever so often her father would take her to watch an afl game in which she went for Geelong.

So at the moment I was wearing her Geelong t shirt. I was quite proud of it actually, we spent many summers in Australia with my grandparents and when ever we were there it was game on!

I slid on my shoes and continued to dance around my bed room. Grabbing my jacket of the back of the chair and walked into the bathroom. The jacket was another thing I stole from mothers things.

I pulled my hair into a pony tail and left it lose at back. The small bits of my hair had already come back at the front. Sighing I put a bit of mascara on and cleaned my teeth. Deciding to put in a little more effort I gently brushed some blush onto my cheeks and applied some clear lipgloss.

Flouncing down stairs I found that it was not raining outside, it was raining inside. Not literally but Billie had been crying all morning that if we collected and tipped it out it it would probably flood a small village.

She sat on the couch in her pajamas and her eyes were red from crying. She must be really nervous about starting at the new school.

"Billie? Come on we have to go soon!" Reminded her.

"Dad says I can stay home," she said,

Of course he did. I was a bit upset she wouldn't be coming with me today, then at least I would know someone.

Sighing I fixed myself a bowl of cereal, corn flakes and golden syrup. Crunching it with my teeth, I finished quickly. I'm so excited I don't even know why.

Saying a quick good bye to my dad, (and one to my scaredy cat sister) I walked out the door.

Seeing I hadn't gotten my license, at the moment,  I had to take the bus, lucky me. Surrounded by little kids I put in my ear phones. I was distracted though by a girl my age stepping onto the bus. Her hair was black and curly at the ends, it reached down to her backside. Her tan skin radiated off the sparkly earrings she was wearing. She was really pretty. She spotted me and offered me a small smile. She wondered my way and sat down on the seat next to me.

"Hey I'm Cora," she said shacking my hand. I smiled in reply,

 "My names Cleo!"

Maybe this isn't so bad,

"This bus sucks, I have to take it because my mum can't afford to get me a car," She smiled. "Yeah same with me, we just moved here so my dad hasn't exactly got a car yet," I told her.

"Wait so this is your first day?" She asks, I nod.

"That's funny because it's the same with me. We moved here last week and today's my first day too!" She said.

"Wow what a coincidence!"

"Today is going to be great, it will be the blind leading the blind!" she laughed, "hopefully we can find someone to show us around!"
