The clock ticks silently as we wait the arrival of our parents. You could have herd a pin drop. Billy and Alice sat at the table, Flynn sprawled out on the couch and I sat perched up on the kitchen bench. I knew my dad would scold me for sitting up here but I like it. After our laundry shoot incident we had sat down and played some monopoly followed by a Harry Potter marathon. Alice had arrived an hour ago and made us some dinner.

It was dark and around 8:30 when we saw the headlights light up the windows, indicating some one had parked in our driveway.
We didn't run to the door, we just sat and waited. Some one fumbled with some keys and unlocked the door. Still we did not move. Only when we herd some one shout, "kids we're home!" Did we get up and walk towards the front door. My dad leaned forwards and hugged both billy and I in one motion. Val hugged her kids too though Flynn did protest.

Who knew a bad boy player could be so loving?

Later that night when billy had gone to be Val and dad sat Flynn Alice and I down at the table. "There's something we need to discuss. Of course Robert and I have already talked about this. But we feel you need to apart of this as well." Val started. "We didn't want to do anything your weren't happy about." My dad continued. "Mum what are you talking about?" Alice asked. "How would you feel, if Robert and I...." Val said and looked up at my father. I could see the love and value in her eyes as they Shon apron my dad. Love is powerful and seeing love like this is quite confronting. I sat up straighter in my seat. "If your mother and I were to tie the knot?" My dad said casually. "What? As in get married?" Alice gaped. A smile spread across Flynn face and my cheeks caught a flame. "Well yeah, as in get married." Val smiled. "I think that's a great idea!" Flynn said jumping up to hug his mum and to shake my dads hand. Alice did the same.

I stood lightly. And walked towards my dad. "Cleo?" He asked.

Was I okay with this?
I can't help fell we are betraying mum, by starting a new family without her.

"It's what mum would have wanted." Dad said squeezing me as I gave him a hug. "What? You to run off with other women?" I joke lightly, "no!" My dad laughed. "To move on, she wouldn't want to hold us back."

So it was settled. My dad was getting married. Of course Val and dad were already engaged before they told us. Dad had proposed on the beach during a sunset, who knew my old man could be so romantic?

Flynn had gone to his room to watch a movie or so thing and my dad had gone to the shops. Alice Val and I sat in the lounge room. Val was telling us all about the holiday. "And the spa was incredible, I got my nails done." She said holding out her hands for us to awe over, they looked great. "And we rode elephants. Cleo you would have loved it." Okay I may have let slip that my favorite animal was an elephant.

When dad got home I went back upstairs and crawled into my bed. It had been a long day and I was dying to get to sleep.

The holidays had flown by so quickly and before I knew it it was the last day before the first day of school. Through out the two whole weeks I hadn't seen Jasper. It felt wrong not seeing him, after all he did live next door. Cora was over at my house and we were going to the local day spa. Alice and Val were coming too billy was at a friends. I grabbed my phone and jumped into the back seat of the car. Cleo and Alice were getting on great. I hadn't told her about Flynn and Alice becoming apart of my family and Flynn said he wouldn't tell Jay or Jasper. We wanted it to be a surprise  when they were invited.
For all I know Cora just thought Alice was a family friend and that Val was her mum. She had seen Flynn but just thought, like everyone else, that he and I were...... But we weren't.

Val drove us throw the winding streets, stopping at various red lights. We finally pulled up at a big building. The front was sea green and had a sing above it that red, "Ainsley's spa and beauty parlor."

We climbed out and addressed the front counter. The lady smiled at us. "Hello how can I help you?"
"We're here for a ten am spa treatment, under the name Valentina" Val said. The lady nodded and clicked around on her computer. "Okay if you'll head on through the change rooms are just up ahead and enjoy your day." She smiled, we thanked her and proceeded along the white hallways lined with paintings. We reached a door at the end which read, 'change room'

I pushed open the door and the others followed suit. We pitched a locker and stripped down into our bathers. A lady came along and handed us a towel each and a dressing gown. "If you'll follow me please." She led us through a door in the change rooms and into a steam filled spa room. Each spa had a number and were about the average size of a small pool. She stopped at the number four spa. "Here you go ladies, enjoy" she said before slipping away.

We jumped in and were covered in the tingling sensation of the hot spa. "Ah, this Is so nice." Alice said slipping into the spa even further. "Mmmmmm" Cora mumbled in agree. "So girls, any hot guys at school? Huh?" Val asked closing her eyes. I snorted but Cora blushed crimson. "Spill!" Alice squealed. Splashing at us with her bubbles. "Well, you see.... There is.....dating....and well..." She stammed. "shes dating Jay Johnson." I blurted out. Cora shot me a death stare that would silence the devil in his path.

"Ohhh so kayoot!!" Alice cooed. Val laughed at her daughters enthusiasm. "I'm not the only one, you know." Cora smiled mischievously. "Oh do tell." Cora looked at me. "Well it was early stages but I definitely saw something going on with cleo and Jasper. That is until you stopped talking to one another. Have  you even spoken to him at all these holidays?" She asked. "Uh I don't have anything with Jasper. Seriously why dose every one keep saying that?" I said sitting up. "You tell me," Cora said innocently. Alice looked away but I could tell she was smiling. Even Val coughed to hide her giggles.

The spa ended with a manicure. Now I'm not one for nails. "Are you coming?" Asked Val, walking down the hall to the nail parlor. "You guys go ahead, I'll wait up" I said. They looked at me curiously. "I'm serious I have to look at the shops next door. So I'll meet you back here in fifteen." I say. They nod their heads and walk off. I gather my things and slip back into my white jumpsuit.

I walk out into the bright sunny afternoon air. I sigh slipping on my shades and taking a long stride. I walked across the street and sat down on a park bench. Okay so I lied about going shopping. But I just need some air.

I pulled out my phone and started playing piano tiles. I was just beating my high score, when a pool of cold water rushed over me. "Hey!" I yelled in astonishment. I turned to see the culprit p. Jasper stood next to the chair, dumb founded. "What was that for?" I hiss standing up to meat his gaze. "I'm sorry I tripped." He said holding up his hands. "And just happened to spill water on me?" I ask.

"I'm telling you cleo it was an accident." He said. "Oh yeah because you always make mistakes. I'm sorry for misjudging you!" I snap. "Look I'm sorry. Okay?" He snaps back. "What for, for ignoring me and taking out your stupid mood swings on me? Or what about snapping at your best mates and me?"

"What are you talking about cleo, your the one flirting your hearts content and ignoring me. I've tried to talk to you you just shut me out." He seethed. "Oh yeah?" I ask. Jasper synods his head. "So it's all my fault? It's all my fault you play with girls like there's no tomorrow. It's my fault all your friends hate you. And it's my fault that I moved next door to the most arrogant, egotistical, dick." I say storming off. "Fuck you cleo." He calls after me. I turn around to face him again. "I hate you." I hiss in his face.  "Good now we are even!" He says. I stick the finger up at him. "Yeah real mature cleo, why don't you go talk to Flynn about your problems."
"What has he got to do with this?" I ask my voice dripping with anger.

"The fact that he's always over at yours. Have you had fun? You know I'm not the only one playing with people." He accuses. "It's not like that." I insist. "Is it not?" "I hate you, don't ever talk to me again." I hiss and turn around. "Okay, fine by me!" He says and turns around and walks away. I walk as fast as I can until I reach the car. I wait until I'm out of sight form the public, before I let the tears overwhelm me and my heart to break down.
