I wake up, slowly and steadily. I can hear my dads crying fighting with each other in the kitchen. There is some swearing and yelling, I think to myself, I thought Papa doesn't like swearing? I sit up and rub my eyes, I look at my arm to find a raised red mark. The mark burns like heck but I notice I have a cool, wet rag on my forehead. I must've had a beaver! (When I was little I was sick and had a fever but I just kept shouting, "I have a beaver! I have a beaver!") I yawn and stretch, the burn stings like fire when I stretched.
"Ouch!", I quietly shout.
My dads notice I'm up because the yelling and arguing stops. I hear quiet footsteps coming from the kitchen towards me. Papa runs over to me, gets on his knees by the couch and gently grabs my hand.
"Oh honey! You're up! Are you okay, we were worried about you?!", Papa asks quite loudly. "Yeah yeah, I'm fine. My arm hurts though, I'll be fine, it's nothing much.", I say with a faint smile. "Are you sure? You passed out!", Bear says. "Yes, I'm sure, the mark is already feeling a lot better!", I exclaim. "One thing I am NOT fine about is you two fighting.", I say with an smug look. Papa and Bear look at each other first startled, then concerned. "Oh, you heard us?", Bear asks with an uneven worried expression. "Yeah, you guys can't fight like that when something so small bugs you!", I am practically yelling at them now. "And Papa you shouldn't swear, you know better. Also, don't blame Bear for the accident!", I'm pulling a tone with him. "Bear, you swear and yeah I know that's just how you are, but I still don't like when your swearing to inflict guilt onto others, especially Papa." "But Chloe, your dad was there when you were burned!", Papa seems  agitated with my view on the incident. "Yeah but that doesn't mean he's the one at fault!", I think he's starting to understand. "She's telling the truth, I swear! I would never hurt her!", Bear explains to Papa. "Bear was about to straighten his hair when I grabbed his arm, I don't know why I did though. When I grabbed his arm, the shock caused him to accidentally drop the iron, which fell on my arm. I'm pretty sure I passed out because I stayed up until about 4 am and haven't eaten real food for like 10 hours and haven't drank a lot of water recently.", I try to explain calmly.
They look at me with an assured and understanding look.
"Thanks for being great dads and taking care of me.", I say as they both hug me and kiss my cheeks.
