A/N : SUMMER TIME!!! boy, aren't i funny. we're getting there okay?
(friday before summer break)
The weather is utter hell and I constantly want to yell in p.e.
(Art)
Mrs. Sunimi has us drawing and painting what we plan to do for summer break. Of course, I draw the whole Yamashita family + Jade and I at the beach.
Miyagi and I are in the middle of the picture with Miyagi covering his bare chest awkwardly and me covering my chest by holding my t-shirt up. (I'm wearing a one-piece with short swim shorts)
My dads came to visit for summer break in the picture, so they are wearing t-shirts, standing behind me.
Mr. Yams and Mom are standing behind Miyagi with Yuki next to Mom.
Jade is to my left with my Dad's behind her and I.
Everyone surrounds Miyagi and I who are still as awkward as ever when we're with our families.
(After Art)
"Chloe? You there?", Miyagi knocks on the classroom door, peering around the corner.
"Yep! I'm just finishing up my painting, i'll be done in about 5 minutes if you don't mimd postponing our ramen date?", I say swiping a thin brush into a splotch of black paint.
Miyagi stands behind me, setting his bag down, "It can wait, anything for you," he says crouching down to kiss me on the cheek.
"MIYAGI! What if someone sees you?!", I exclaim turning quickly to face him dead on.
"They won't, I promise," he says putting his hand on my jaw to kiss me.
I scrunch my nose and shake my head, backing away.
"Maybe later, now, let me finish my painting," I swerve around to work on my scene.
"Fine, Ms. Grumpypants. What are you painting anyway?", the disgruntled boy asks pulling up a stool to observe.
"It's what I want to do this summer break, a family vacation to the beach," I say smiling, looking at the painting.
"Actually, we go on a family trip to the beach every summer. It's a tradition," Miyagi says surprised by what I say.
"Do you stay overnight? How far away is the beach? Do you swim in the ocean?", I rapid fire questions at him out of fear and curiosity.
(Flashback)
(California, Monterey Bay, 2029, 9 y/o at the time)
The breeze felt like a cool towel being rested on my shoulders as I played in the sand by the shore.
My dads watched me from the dry sand further on the shore, relaxing, enjoying the quiet.
I saw a few other kids, maybe 10 years old or so, climbing on some shallow rocks further in the water.
(Mind)
That looks so cool, I wanna do that too! I don't think my dads will mind. I can do this!
