I walk around with my knife in my holster and my gun by my side, ready to shoot if need be. Currently we are held up at the barn. We have only stayed for a night and that was one of the scariest nights so far. We had a small herd of walkers trying to break into the barn while there was a storm going on outside. We all had to rush over and hold the doors closed for most of the night. I guess you can say we have not really had much sleep.

"You look tired" Maggie says commenting on my features. I look over to her and weakly smile while rocking Judith in my hands.

"I think everyone is" I say to everyone in the room. They all sigh and nod in agreement.

"We are going to have to move again soon" Rick says pacing in the barn. We all look to him with 'What the fuck?' looks. He glances in our direction and rubs the bridge of his nose in frustration.

"Not just yet Rick, we need to figure out what is going on with these" Glenn says gesturing to the bottles of water and cans of food that was sitting on a haystack in the middle of the barn. We all glance over, each one of us desperate to have some, but not because we don't know who is sending these and if they are poisoned or not. I mean seriously, how fucked up has the world become if we are now worried about whether or not the last resources possibly left on earth are poisoned or not.

"And we need to refuel, which means holding up for a little longer than one night" he says telling us his plan. We all agree and nod. Rick looks over all of us and sighs. He shakes his head but then agrees too. We all know this is not easy for him; hell this is not easy for any of us.

"Do you want to feed her?" Carl asks sitting beside me gesturing to Judith. I smile and nod as she begins to make her cute baby noises. Carl and I both laugh at this and he mixes the formula for her and brings it over. He hands me the bottle and I pop it into her gob, letting her hold the bottle if she wants. She takes the bottle out of my hand and begins chugging it down.

"You have to breathe too" I joke to her tugging slightly on the bottle for her to breathe. She does then begins eating again. Soon she will be on solids, finally.

"Is it weird that I think you would make an excellent mum?" Carl asks me. I look over to him and smile before laughing. I nod my head vigorously and hand him Judith.

"Well I am not planning any anytime soon" I joke back to him. He looks over and playfully pouts. I smack his arm and he lets out a small whimper. I smile in victory and Judith crawls back over to sit in my lap. I let her and start to play with her hair.

"Mum would love how you are with her" he says resting his head on my shoulder, I could feel his breath against my cheek. I look up to the roof and smile. I hope so, for Carl's sake, he really does miss her, I can tell.

"Your mum would be so proud of you" I whisper to him so only he could hear. The others decided to go outside and either hunt or patrol. Rick came over to us and sighs.

"Just going out to check the perimeter, be back soon" he says playing with Judith's hair. She smiles and giggles which brings a smile to his face. He gets back up and walks for the door, closing it behind him.

"How do you know?" he asks me sadly. This is a very touchy subject for him, I should not push him too far.

"I just do, you have grown into being a capable young man looking out for his sister and the group" I say to him smiling. I turn my face to him and smile before leaning in to peck him on the lips. I pull away instantly and rest my hand on his thigh. I feel him intertwine our hand and kiss my cheek. He leans further back and rests his head against the haystack behind us. I hear the soft snores escape Judith's lips and smile to myself. I lean my head back to begin to close my eyes. The next thing I know I can feel myself being tugged down to lying on the ground. I opened my eyes briefly to see Carl has lied me down in front of him with him lying behind me, He wrapped his arms around my waist and brought my back to his chest. His warmth instantly heating me. I hold Judith in my arms and let my eyes close again, letting myself drift off into a nightmare less sleep.
