RORY
"DRINK! DRINK! DRINK!" The others chanted around me as I drank whatever they gave me. It was only my second drink but I already started feeling weird. They cheered me on when I put down my cup, signaling that I finished.
"Shit you look so bad," Mike snickered. "How many fingers am I holding up?" he asked. I stopped, grasping the nearby wall for support and stared at his hands.
"Uh, black," I answered confidently which caused Paul to laugh so loud he fell off of the couch. I saw Adam grinning at us too.
Everyone on the team went to Mike's place which was quite the surprise as I knew that a few of them didn't like this kind of get-togethers. I assumed that saying that it was for team building made them not want to feel left out.
I grabbed onto a nearby wall before I could fall over. I heard someone screaming that the others needed to drink too, not just me. Everything was way too chaotic for my liking but I couldn't care less at the moment.
. . .
Around 1 a.m. a bunch of the guys went home already. I was lying on the couch taking up the whole space. My eyes were closed because I was so dizzy, I felt like if I looked at pretty much anything I would've thrown up.
"Truth or dare time, come on!" yelled Paul. I groaned in response.
"Dude there's like only six of us here. This will be the most boring game of all time."
"Nooo it'll be fun trust me. Everyone get their ass here!"
I carefully slid down to the ground still afraid to of open my eyes. While the others argued about who should start I let my head fall to whoever's shoulder was next to me. Everything felt heavy and loud and bright.
I'll never drink again.
I heard a glass spinning on the ground and a bunch of "oooh"s when it finally stopped.
"Oliver truth or dare?"
"Dare. I'm not afraid of you bitches," I heard his voice insanely close. I was using him as a pillow and he'd go away because of this game. Cool. I slowly tossed myself to the other side letting whoever was on there to catch me.
"Send a dick pic to Beth."
"Truth, I changed my mind."
"No take backs. Sorry those are the rules."
"Since when?" Oliver let out an annoyed huff. "I actually like her. This will so ruin everything, come on dude."
I zoned out their argument until my name was being called. I opened my eyes, squinting like my life depended on it. "What?" I asked weakly.
"Get off me I need to pee," said Adam as he slowly pushed me away. I mumbled a quick sorry and sat up somewhat straight. The others didn't care about Adam's absence, they continued the game.
"Fucking finally! Rory, truth or dare?"
"Truth," there was no way that I could've stand up in that moment.
"You're so fucking quiet nowadays. Why?" Mike stared me.
"Just trying to date this person but-" I started explaining right away but they cut me off.
"Wait, you actually like someone? Since when?"
"I've known you for like what? Three years? And you didn't date anyone like ever." Statements like this were thrown at me as I sat still.
"It's whatever anyway," I shook my head. "It's like I'm invisible I swear." The others jumped in and gave me a bunch of advice but I didn't pay attention to any of it. I was way too tired and the dizziness never went away. Adam got back to us after a few minutes.
"Dude I thought you said you'll wait for me," he spoke as he sat down.
"Sorry," replied Mike. "You actually missed the new of the century."
"Yeah I bet I did."
Mike didn't pick up Adam's sarcastic tone, "Rory has a crush on someone," he continued in a melodic tone. Adam looked at me with his mouth wide open.
"What?"
"Yeah. Now it's out time to give the kid some dating advice. The girl wouldn't even look at him, can you believe this?!"
"The girl...?" I've never seen Adam that confused in his life which made me laugh. He had a funny confused face.
"Well, Rory didn't tell us her name. So secretive."
"Oh," I realized. It was rude for me to let them hanging. "You're right, the name is-"
"Anyways!" Adam cut me off loudly. "Why don't we continue the game? You were so eager to play Paul, what happened?" he got up and pushed the glass into my hands. "Spin it! I have an awesome idea if it lands on him."
"Great idea," agreed Oliver. "I actually have a few plans for him too," he said, didn't even try to hide the demonic expression on his face.
. . .
"I'm never drinking again," I mumbled while lying on Adam's bed. He let me sleep over, so my mom won't see me like this.
"I'm never staying sober again," he replied. "How bad is your hangover, do you need some painkillers?"
"I need a fucking bus to take me out."
"You'll be fine," he waved his hand dismissively. "How much do you remember from last night?"
"Close to nothing," I answered honestly. "Oh my god what did I do?" I groaned. Adam shrugged with an awkward smile on his face.
"Not much really."
"Thank god."
"Just whined about your crush, and how this person doesn't even look at you," I sat up so fast that the headache became worse.
"I did not come out to everyone," I said urgently.
"Nope. But wanted to," he seemed happy with himself. "I stepped in just time. But they know that you have a big fat crush and want to help you."
"Yeah, I'm never drinking."
