~Amelia~

Amelia couldn't remember how much time had passed since she and Furlan began their journey. Their first week had been tough. Amelia was injured, and the two of them had no idea where to start. All Amelia wanted to do was head straight for the Walls. There, she knew that she would be sheltered from the seemingly endless Titans they encountered daily. However, with the knowledge that the trio of young Titan shifters had likely survived, Amelia knew Wall Maria would be chaos. Although it pained her to let the people of Wall Maria perish, Amelia knew that she and Furlan could do little in the way of helping them. Plus, with the Garrison on high alert, they would likely be taken out before they even reached the Walls. So, instead, they decided to stay put until Amelia healed.

Then, after about a week, Amelia was able to walk again. Now, they had no excuse but to move on from the little base they had set up. Unanimously, Amelia and Furlan settled on staying away from the Walls for as long as they could— or at least until they had exhausted all of their options.

After years of finding only a few abandoned buildings, Amelia and Furlan stumbled upon a wall. As far as they knew, the only walls that existed in "Titan land", a nickname Amelia had suggested as a joke and somehow stuck, were located in the opposite direction from where they were currently. Amelia was sure of this as she had meticulously mapped out practically all of "Titan Land" using self-made paper and charcoal, a skill she had learned from a random documentary she had watched with her brother.

Once they had found a way around this unfamiliar wall, they found a dock. At first, Amelia was surprised that humanity had ventured this far in the past. Then, Amelia recalled her brief conversation with Reiner all those years ago. He had called her several colourful names such as a 'devil' and 'Eldian scum', heavily implying that he saw her as something different. In her world, sea travel marked the beginning of global trade and exploration. Thus, the existence of the dock and Reiner's words led Amelia to believe there were likely other places besides "Titan Land" out there and that this world was a lot more developed than she was led to believe in the anime.

To test her theory, Amelia and Furlan waited to see if anyone would show up. This was the first clue they had found during their entire voyage, so it would have been foolish not to wait and gather as much information as possible. However, after months of waiting, nothing happened.

Disheartened, Amelia and Furlan lost all hope of achieving their respective goals. Amelia checked her maps one last time. Only one area was left blank: the Walls of Humanity themselves.

"Do you reckon the Walls are much further from here?" Furlan whined childishly. Two weeks had passed since they had left their camp at the docks, and the Walls still weren't in sight.

"How am I supposed to know? You're the one who's been to them before, not me," Amelia pointed out, scanning her makeshift maps, attempting to pinpoint exactly where they were. Ironically, even though Amelia had made the maps, she wasn't the best at navigating them.

"You're the one who made the damn things. What's the point in even making them if you can't use them?" Furlan huffed at her, frustratedly crossing his arms. He stopped, leaned against a tree and decided it was time for him to rest while Amelia figured it out. With Furlan's large body, it was more taxing for him to walk long distances, resulting in him needing to stop more often.

"It's not my fault that they don't go this far. We had to avoid the Scouts and other Titans, remember? Meaning, my maps are practically useless here." Amelia rolled up the worthless things, sliding them back into the hemp-woven bag she had fashioned herself. They had learnt early on their journey that the Walls were a hot spot for Titan activity- which made sense as their prey resided within them.
