"Hey, so my mom said we could sleep here for the night since you kinda left the car about twenty miles away," he says, making me groan.
"One, I had to leave the car behind so you would come, and two, why the beds of hell?" I exclaim like a fussy six year old, which makes Austin laugh a little.
"They can't be that bad, now come on, I'm tired," he says, rolling his eyes and walking into a room. Before I can tell him there are girls in there, he opens the door. The girls in the room are sitting on their beds talking, but when they see Austin they all gasp as if he's the first boy they've ever seen - I mean, technically he is but still - Austin slams the door shut and hisses at me,"Why didn't you say something?!"
"Because I'm too cool," I say, flipping my hair, turning around, and walking towards the room I used to stay in.
"Come on, I'm tired." Austin groans getting ready to drop onto the bed but I grab him arm.
"You might not want to do that," I say, releasing his arm and sitting down on the other bed.
"Who used to stay in here?" Austin asks, looking at the other two beds but before I can reply, someone walks in.
"Oh my gosh, Clare!" I exclaim, running over and hugging her.
"Zoey, I missed you!" she yells, squeezing me super tight and I nearly suffocate.
"Umm......who is this?" Austin asks and Clare stares at him and gasps.
"Oh my gosh! Austin, I never thought I'd see you again!" she exclaims, hugging him, but Austin just looks confused.
"Ok, this is getting really weird," Austin says, pulling away from Clare.
"Oh sorry, it's just I saw you when you two were a thing but that was before Miss Flavrim-" she started to say but stopped and I knew why.
"We know about her erasing our memories, Clare, it's ok," I say giving her a small smile even though it's kinda awkward.
"So yeah.....I missed you Austin!" Clare says, turning to him with a smile on her face. "So are you guys...." Clare asks, pointing from Austin to me.
"Yeah," I say, looking at the floor, but then I jump up and hug her pulling Austin over to us.
"Group hug!" Clare yells, laughing making me laugh and surprisingly Austin too.
"So what happened to Nancy?" I ask Clare, tilting my head to the side, "Oh she went with your parents but..." She trails off looking a little distant.
"But what, Clare?" I ask, knowing something's off.
"...they didn't want me," she finishes and I fall on the ground.
