Chapter 134 - The Home Stretch

E.N.D. shot into the sky, trying to blot out the sun, while Gray sprinted for momentary cover. He slid along the ice, holding one hand out. He cast Ice-Make: Falcons—thanks, Lyon—using Dynamic Ice-Make magic. The birds soared into the sky. E.N.D. destroyed both, but they served to distract them long enough for Gray to bounce off one of the buildings and slam his hands together.

He cast Ice-Make: Ice Geyser and, immediately, after, Ice-Make: Arrow.

The geyser almost served to capture E.N.D., but he broke out of it. He lashed out a flaming wheel attack at Gra,y who swung his body around and then shot the arrow at E.N.D. Rather than freeze him, it crashed into him and sent him spiraling. But the demon managed to recover mid-air, while Gray was stuck. E.N.D. blasted at Gray.

"Ice-Make Unlimited: One-Sided Chaotic Dance!"

Tendrils of flame were sliced apart and broken apart by Gray's spell, which managed to make contact and punish E.N.D., forcing the demon back to the ground. Gray summoned an Ice-Make Platform that helped lower him to the ground. He sprinted at the demon before it could recover, bashing it with an Ice-Make: Hammer he managed to summon straight to his hand.

But before Gray could follow through with another strike, E.N.D. unleashed a torrent of dark power that forced Gray back and into a frozen tower of ice. The demon blitzed forward and crashed into Gray with its foot, blasting them both through the ice. The demon pinned Gray and raised its shadowy arm back, tendrils dripping with fiery magic.

Gray punched up, but it slashed across his arm, the force almost tearing Gray's arm clean off. With a roar, the demon tried to slash down at Gray. Desperately, he tried to move and only managed to make it so he wouldn't get carved across the face, but his torso took a beating. Gray howled in pain. He swung his fist up, knocking the demon away. Blood ran down his body. Gray curled his hand into a fist, but was slightly disoriented. His body burned.

E.N.D. burst out at him and slammed into Gray, then shot a fireball at Gray, who toppled over several weapons and small ice structures to hit the ground again. Gray punched the ground and managed to get up on wobbly arms and legs.

E.N.D. roared, its disgusting, warped voice filling the sky as its fires shot higher and higher into the sky. That thing couldn't let up, not even for a second. Gray sighed, ushering more magic to his hands, but found that his reserves were almost entirely tapped out. Worse, as E.N.D. unleashed its magic, more and more of the structures and weapons around the battlefield began to melt away.

"Yeah, yeah," Gray muttered. He summoned a sword of purple ice to his hand. "Get it out of your system, you piece of shit."

E.N.D. glowered, then moved with speed greater than it'd shown before. Gray braced and stepped forward to slice the demon in half, but it never made it. A missile launched down and knocked E.N.D. off course.

Just as fast did the demon recover and launch at Gra,y but a whip of water lashed around its neck and then flung the demon aside, only to be consequently pummeled by a massive torrent of water.

The demon's aura sizzled, and it struck again. A figure appeared in front of Gray, power surging forward more than it'd ever been, and its flames were met by a huge tidal wave that stifled the demon, but the woman still took a hit. Gray lunged forward and slashed the demon across the chest, the force of the blow knocking it back.

Gray opened his hand.

Juvia clasped it.

They'd talk in a second.

"Go!" Gray shouted and flung her forward.

He froze the wave she created as she rode along it, Juvia summoning dozens of magic circles and launching blast after blast of water at E.N.D. to distract it before Gray could at last fire off another arrow, slamming into the demon and sending him flying across the battlefield.
