In Earth Land, few forces can compare to the power of magic. In this world, people from all around can use magic to help themselves, their neighbors. They can find jobs, find hobbies, and find love. Magic is a conduit for moving forward. Magic is a means to better oneself. For wizards in a guild, magic was a means of expressing unbreakable bonds and creating lasting memories that would weather any storm.

In the hands of a guild like Fairy Tail, magic was a means of protection, of honor, of respect, and most of all, of passion. Magic has existed on Earth Land and will continue to so long as there are people to wield it.

However.

In the hands of one corrupted by the sorrowful nature of malice, magic can be forged into a weapon. Magic can be chaos and destruction. It can be the doom of one's life as a villain finds their boon.

Magic is light and dark. Magic is that flickering bit of sunlight as the world prepares for night. It is both dawn and dusk.

Magic is twilight.

And as the world's color returned and all faded to a quiet that it hadn't known in Magnolia for some time, a twilight haze gripped the former wizards of Fairy Tail, the Underworld King, the Jade Star, the rebellious Yukino, and Kip.

It revealed the destruction wrought by a war between two sides so diametrically opposed to one another that a collision wasn't simply inevitable, it was bound to envelop and consume both. It revealed that which was to come following one's misuse of magic for their own gain.

A low whine that'd been emanating from one of the greatest magical weapons the world had ever seen, STAR, was finally silenced. Its light had dwindled to nothing, and its spinning power at last went dormant as the lacrima once holding its control bay disintegrated.

Lucy Heartfilia fell forward under the weight of her surprise. She was alive. Her heart still thundered in her chest.

STAR was seconds from activation. She could almost feel the hand of the grim reaper reaching into her chest to still her heart and steal her soul. Cold sweat poured down her face, rolling down her cheeks like tears. They caressed the side of her lips like a forlorn lover might as they said goodbye. Lucy grabbed the dirt in her hand, as if to check she really was alive.

"Lev?" Lucy muttered.

She lay there, her blue hair a complete mess, resting against STAR. Her breathing was light, so light, but present. Her hands, though...and the runes and markings that covered her body like burns...

Worst of all, there was no color in her eyes. They were whited out completely. Levy tried to speak, but shut her eyes again, then slumped. Lucy blitzed over.

Panther Lily joined, checking Levy's pulse.

"She's alive," Lily breathed.

"What happened to her?" Lucy asked, as if the answer wasn't right behind her.

STAR was pouring more magic out per second than maybe even the Jupiter cannon did in an entire blast. It was concentrated magic, something Levy was directly tampering with. She was alive, but to what extent? Lucy brushed some hair out of her face.

"She'll be okay," Lily said, as if assuring himself of that.

Lucy nodded. "And—Laxus. What happened to Laxus, to Mard Geer?"

Everything had been wiped away. The entire battlefield was visible. The Cube was all but completely gone, and it gave Lucy the chance to easily survey what was before her and spot Laxus standing several yards away from Mard Geer. Both were braced on their knees on the ground.
