Chapter 23
December 31st
Amy's P.O.V.
Flashback
"Merry Christmas, Ames..."
He backed away and looked at her. Her face was completely red, Amy looked down at the ground not wanting to look him in the eyes
"W-Why did you-"
"Make sure to be in town around 6... See ya Ames!" He ran off
Amy touched her cheek, thinking about what just happened
"Idiot... We're still gonna see each other in the castle.It's...It's gonna be awkward. Why do you always do this?"
End of Flashback
I laid in bed, I could feel heat rise up to my cheeks...
That idiot, what's his deal?
Just the two of us, That's technically a date!

Knock Knock
Who's that?
I get up from my bed and walk to the door. Slightly opening it and peeking out
No one?
I completely open the door, the winter air comes in and I shiver, I wasn't wearing anything but my pajamas...I look around for anyone
"Jeez, who made me come outside..." I look down "Newspaper?"
I grab it and go inside
My eyes widden...
"Wha...What?!"
6:30
Sonic's P.O.V.
I pull my scarf up and look at the clock
"6:30... Where is she-"
"SOOOONICCCC!!!"
I turn around surprised. She was running really fast towards me
"A-Amy?"
She was wearing a long redjacket it had white cotton at the end of it and the sleeves, white gloves and hat, black leggings and red and white shoes
It seemed like she could slow down
"Amy Careful!-
"Ouf!"
She slammed into me, Her head buried in my chest and whatever she had in her hands seemed to be crumbling... I wanted to keep her there, but I had to know what was going on
I put my hands on her shoulders and i pushed her back, She was starring at the ground and her face was completely red
"Amy, What's wrong?"
She looked at me then shook her head
"L-Look!" She showed me the crumbled newspaper...
It had a picture of her on the front, it was from the dinner party.
I sigh in relief and put the newspaper down
"Jeez Amy you made me worry, I thought it was something worse..."
"Are you joking?! This is a worrying matter! What if the Queen finds out, do you know what she will do!-"
I grab the newspaper and throw it away in the garbage
"Hey! Are you even listening?!"
I notice someone behind a tree looking... Who's that? Are they-
"Hey! HEY! Sonic?" I look down at Amy waving her hands infant of my face
"Hm? You're worried about her? As if i'll let her do anything..."
I look back at the person. But they're...gone?
"...What's wrong?" She looks in the direction I was looking on, then back at me
"N-Nothing" I grab her hand and start walking "Let's go" I look back at her and smile
Her face gets all red again
"R-Right..." She looks away, following me
Normal P.O.V.
They went to get something to eat and then walked around town for the rest of the night.
Amy looked up at the sky
"Pretty... You can see the stars tonight"
Sonic looked up, his vision drifted to the clock
"11:40"
"...Hey Ames wanna go to the clock tower ?"
She smiled and nodded, he grabbed her hand and started walking towards the middle of town
"What are you-"
"There's a lot of people, I don't want you to get lost"
Amy blushed and went along
They finally arrived. People were gathered around it and there were fences along the clock tower to keep them away
Amy rested her arms on the fence and looked around, couples were nearly everywhere. Arms around each other, hugging, and holding hands. She sighed
Sonic smirked and put his scarf around Amy's neck pulling her closer. Their foreheads touched
"!!!"
"What's wrong Ames? Want me to do that kinda stuff with you?" He teased
"EH?! What are saying?! T-Too close...!"
She starts feeling nervous and shy. He closes his eyes and leans in to kiss her. Their faces inches apart but he stops midway
"...Sorry Ames, I-!!!"
Amy slammed her lips against his. His eyes widen and he looks at her, her eyes were closed tightly and her cheeks were a bright shade of red
Click Click
He relaxed and closed his eyes, kissing her back
The Clock struck 12, people cheered and celebrated
Both of them pulled back, Amy too embarrassed to look at him. He lifted her chin so their eyes could meet
"Amy," He whispered "I love you"
There was a long pause before she answer back
"Sonic, I..." She gulped, lowering her head but bringing it back up, giving him a warm smile
"I love you too...Sonic"
