I sit in my car with Amelia strapped in her car seat in the backseat. I decided to do something good for Amelia and spend some time with her. I feel as if I've been putting my needs before hers and that just isn't right. I've given her two options of either going to an amusement park or go and watch a movie and go to an ice cream shop after. She chose to go to the amusement park.

"Sweetie?" I ask my niece.

"Yeah, Aunt Kathryn?" I hear her speak up.

"Are you ready to go?"

"Yep!" She exclaims with a big smile on her face, clapping her hands together. I smile at her actions.

This is going to be great. I'm going to spend some time with my niece and not worry about anything for a few hours.

I drive for about 10 minutes until we reach our destination. I get out of the car and then help Amelia out of her car seat.

"Wow! Look how pretty it is!" Amelia exclaims as we look at all of the rides and game stations. I grasp Amelia's hand in mine so I don't lose her. We walk around for a bit while Amelia tries to figure out what she wants to do first. "There's many things to do, Amelia. You pick whatever you want."

She thinks for a bit longer, when finally deciding that she just wants to play at some of the game stations first before going on any actual rides.

Throughout my time at the amusement park with Amelia, people have come up and asked me for an autograph or a picture. I happily agreed to all of them of course, but I was kind of getting a bit annoyed because I only want to spend time with my niece today. I could see that Amelia, too, was growing tired of constantly stopping just because someone wanted to take a picture or get an autograph. I mean, she's just a young girl who wants to explore around the park.

As I finally broke free from a crowd after taking a few pictures, Amelia and I walked over to the ice cream stand where she ordered a vanilla cone with rainbow sprinkles.

"$2.99," The cashier, a male, says. I hand him the money and give him a small reassuring smile, but he didn't return the smile. He, obviously bored of his job, stuff the money in the register and yells for someone to make the ice cream.

"I need a vanilla cone with rainbow sprinkles, Anna!" He shouts.

Anna.

There's no way.

No, of course not. It can't be the Anna I know. Why would a model be working at an ice cream stand when she could be spending time with her lovely, new boyfriend?

The cashier walks away from the window, and I try to peak in but I really can't see through the small window.

About a minute later, someone walks up behind the window and repeats my order for me while handing me the treat.

"A vanilla cone with rainbow sprinkles?" A voice that I recognize says, and as our eyes meet, we both gasp at the same time. Then her astonished eyes turn into a cold, hard glare.

"My ice cream! There needs to be more rainbow sprinkles!" Amelia says, not accepting the fact that her cone doesn't have "enough" rainbow sprinkles.

I turn to look at Amelia and then look back at Anna. "Can I get more rainbow sprinkles on this, please?"

"It costs extra. $1.00,"

"But the sign says it only costs $0.50..."

Anna rolls her eyes as I hand her fifty cents and she begins to add extra rainbow sprinkles to Amelia's ice cream cone. Once she comes back, she hands Amelia the cone. Amelia studies it, twisting the cone around in her fingers before deciding that there are enough rainbow sprinkles and she sits on a bench right next to the ice cream stand and begins to eat her treat.

"I see you're taking your daughter out for a fun day, aren't you?" She asks with a raised eyebrow.

"I thought I already established the fact that Amelia is my niece, not my daughter."

"Yeah you did, I said that on purpose to get on your nerves." She smirks.

I look down at the ground and then over where Amelia is sitting and then back at Anna. "Well, thank you for the cone." I say quietly.

"Mhmm, sure." She says rudely. I roll my eyes and walk away and over to where Amelia is sitting. "Is it good sweetie?" I ask.

"Yep!"

I'm not going to allow Anna to ruin this day with my niece and I. If she hates me so much, then okay. She may have Jon as a boyfriend, but Jon and I will always be friends and not even she will be able to change that.

I know, you guys are probably mad at me because I haven't updated in months. I have my reasons, of course, but it's just too much to explain... Let's just say I was ready to give up on everything.

But I'm fine now, and I plan on updating regularly now like I used to do.

You guys have no idea how bad I feel. I probably lost a lot of readers, but that's my fault. I'm so sorry that I haven't updated ever since July. I feel so bad.

Just to let you know, I love you all.

I know this chapter isn't good at all, but it's all I could do for now.

Merry Christmas, guys. I love you all ❤️
