MADDIE'S POV

"I'm done here. Thanks!" I put on the robe. Was Matthew watching all this time that I'm in the pool? Oh geese, I couldn't stand thinking that I exposed my skin to him.

"Not so fast Maddie, come here. I know, you can't sleep just as me."

I tried to get off from his hands but he pulled me to the chair. His hand never left my arms even if we were seated.

"In almost one year that you're with us, you really haven't told us your story." Matthew started the conversation. They sat closely together.

"There's not much that I can tell" I'm striving to make my voice normal. I was disturbed by the fact that our arms are brushing with each other.

"Aren't you going to tell me why you really had to leave Sabina?"

Matthew's face were inches away from me. I could even smell his breath. I smell alcohol in him, that maybe the reason why he acted aggressively this time.

"Matthew..", I could hardly say his name. Matthew's arms wrapped me. A certain warmth filled my body. Bells were ringing in my ears but I couldn't push him away. I was tightly locked on his chest.

"Maddie....", he's whispering unto my ears.

The sensation was too overwhelming. Matthew's hands were inside my robe, caressing each strand of my body. I couldn't think straight. From the time I see him how he cared for my Sabina, I long wished that he had been her father.

His mouth covers mine, tenderly he kissed my lips. My hands independently hung onto his neck. I felt his needs and I guess the feeling was mutual. I'm melting on fire  and didn't even care where we are. Then suddenly Matthew stopped.

I opened her eyes. As if, I was taken aback from a majestic world with sweet voices of singing angels. A set of dark and round eyes were locked onto mine and I was firmly held by two strong arms while his fingers tingling my back with soft caress. One moment, Matthew looked at me with so much flame and of so much passion as if those eyes reflect what's deep within me. I long for him and that any moment I will explode.

Then passed another moment, the passionate look in his eyes turned into dreadful gaze. I was tightly held up to the point that I'm being hurt.

"How far can you go, Maddie?" He sarcastically uttered. "I am very happy that you came back for Sabina, I thought you're a good mother after all. I was led to believe that you did that for her sake, and deep within you, a caring mother really exists. But now, knowing your daughter's worth, you're too eager to claim her fortune by dragging me into this?", he paused for a moment. "I can never fall for this. You maybe Sabina's birth mother but not until I am breathing, you can't touch anything that is hers. She doesn't deserve a fortune-hungry mother like you!"

Matthew pushed me so hard that I fell unto my knees. I felt pain not because my knees got scratched from the fall, I'm in pain because I knew Matthew has already judged me.

Matthew Blaine, her daughter's legal guardian, was a perfect dad for Sabina. He had always been good to her, loving her as his very own. With Matthew and Sabina, I felt it is such a perfect family, something that I've dreamed all my life.

But that dream is shattered now. To what Matthew did just a while ago, he's also vindicated I am not the perfect mom for Sabina.
