"Eat." He hands me the plate, not even bothering to look at me. I don't think I've ever said "okay" so fast in my life. I push the toast aside and sit on the counter after a million tries. I just couldnt sit there.

"I don't want a banana," He doesn't say anything, just nods and swaps it for a pancake. I eat it quickly and start washing the dishes.

Eventually, I sit down to rest but barely two seconds in, I hear the softest voice in the hallway, Aleyna. Her tiny body stumbles into the kitchen barefoot and half asleep. She's usually not up till 12pm. I scoop her up before she can trip over herself, causing her to let out the smallest and softest huff before melting into my shoulder.

I rock her slowly as I walk circles around the kitchen. My hand rubs soft circles on her back. She's fully out in less than a minute. It takes a full half hour of pacing before her eyes blink open for real. I take her to her room to get her ready, then come back to finish her breakfast.

By the time she's dressed and fed, I've got her bag for the day in case we end up going out. She grabs it and runs to join her family outside. And then all of a sudden I feel tiny fingers hug both of my legs at once, causing me to stumble a bit. I look down to see Thalia.

"Alex, guess what?" Thalia asks her smile so wide it's contagious.

"You got a credit card?"

"What's that?"

"Nvm baby, what happened?"

"You gotta guess," What if I don't wanna?

"You got new clothes,"

"YES! But also, we're going to the gym!" She lost me. With her limbs, what's she gonna lift?

"What are you gonna do there?"

"Backflips," oh, a gym for gymnastics, makes sense.

"Ohh, Thats cool, girl. Have fun," I say sitting her on the stool next to Lev, she blows him a kiss and he catches it placing it on his heart. Aww, how adorable. She turns to me sliding to the edge. I look at her, then at the edge, and scoff as she shrugs like she knows exactly what she's doing and what could happen.

"Please come with,"

"I'm working sweetie,"

"You're coming anyway," Malak her mum and Lev's cousin states, why tho? I don't want to set foot in a gymnastics gym. Got unresolved trauma there.

"You know how to calm them easily and im too pregnant to chase kids." As much as thats true, why was the decision to go to a gym then? I shrug and nod, it don't seem like I have a choice.
