When Lucas went back home, he wasn't greeted very nicely. Alex was at the front door fuming with his face flushed in red. He looked... cute again, which bothered Lucas. He shouldn't think that he was cute. Not now, not ever. But, he couldn't really help it.
"Where were you?!" Alex shouted at him.
"Out," Lucas told him bluntly. He watched Alex seeth silently, which almost made him smirk. It was amusing seeing Alex react like this.
"You skipped half of school! You can't just do that!"
"Were you worried?" Lucas asked and he watched Alex's face turn red again, but this time with embarrassment.
"W-Who's worried?! I'm just mad that I had to wait for you for twenty minutes and look for you around school!" Lucas only laughed at him, which made Alex ball up his fists turning his knuckles white in the process. Lucas noticed.
"Look, I was just a little pissed off today and I didn't want to be at school any longer," he sighed, "I'm sorry." Alex scoffed and shook his head in disbelief.
"That's also what I want to talk to you about. . . . I think you need anger management Lucas."
"What?" Lucas snapped suddenly causing Alex to flinch a little. Lucas noticed that too and that made him take a calming breath. "Look," he started again, "I didn't mean to scare you, but I don't need any anger management. I'm fine."
"No," Alex argued back, "You're not fine. What makes you fine Lucas? You destroyed your room last night. I don't think you're fine and you certainly don't act like it. If you were fine then you wouldn't have stormed off today. Let me help you."
"I don't need any help," Lucas growled. "I'm fine Alexander." Alex gave a exasperated sigh and ran a hand through his brown hair. Lucas never would have guessed Alex would have that habit. His hair was wild looking now. It was strewn about, sticking up in some places even. Lucas felt the compelling urge it run his fingers through Alexs hair. He wanted to see if it actually was as soft as it looked, but most of all he knew that his face would become flushed. Lucas wanted to see more of that. He wanted to make Alex squirm even if it was just a little bit. . .
"Lucas!" the shorter boy suddenly hissed, "Snap out of it." Lucas snapped out of his daydream and blushed a bright red. His cheeks felt overly hot and he wondered if he really was blushing or if he just had a fever. He never blushed, not even when he was with Celia. Just what in the world was happening?
That's when he felt a little sting in his arm and he realized that Alex had hit him. And boy, Alex was even more pissed off than before. "Lucas, I'm freaking talking to you! You just can't run away from your problems anoymore!" Alex kept shouting and talking to him, but was Lucas listening? No, not really. His thoughts were son something else.
"Alexander," he breathed and that made Alex stop ranting.
"What?" he snapped and puffed out his cheeks. Lucas' hand moved without out command to cup the smaller boys cheek. He could see the slight confusion in Alex eyes, which somehow bothered him. Lucas growled low in his throat almost like some type of animal. The growl made Alex shiver and in response Lucas did something out of character. He pulled Alex against his in a possieve hug, that Alex didn't bother to struggle against.
In that one long second, their breaths mingled together and lips were dangerously close to another pair. Alex didn't move nor did the boy that was holding him in place. Lucas watched Alex eyes flutter closed in a breathtaking away, his breath hitched once he realized he boy wasn't just cute. He was freaking beautiful the moment they met and Lucas was just too subborn to admit that.
His lips pressed down not a second later.
The kiss was slow, tantalizing even. Electricity shot through him causing him to growl again. He bit softly on Alexs' bottom lip causing him to moan quietly. In all honesty, Lucas didn't know what he was doing, it just felt right to him. Kissing Alex and being with him just felt like something he had to do. It was amazing. And Alex responded. Hands had went into Lucas' ebony hair and tugged playfully making a pleasurable sensation. Lucas wanted to take it further, but something inside of him was deciding against it. That's when he pulled back not to long after.
Alex looked dazed and a little surprised. His breathing was irregular on Lucas' lips and Lucas felt someone's heart beating just as fast. It was his. His heart was pounding erratically against his rib cage like it wanted to break free. Lucas wouldn't let it. "Alexander. . . I. . ." he what? He couldn't finish that sentence because he didn't know what he was feeling right now. It was all so confusing to him, it even felt like he wasn't in his own body. Like he wasn't taking any control over himself.
That's when Alex pushed his chest harshly and Lucas reclutantly let go of him. "What the hell, Lucas?!" Alex suddenly shouted. He seemed to be beyond pissed now and Lucas realized his mistake. He shouldn't have kissed him.
"Sorry," he mumbled, it was so quiet and small that he wasn't even sure if it reached Alex's ears.
"Sorry?! You can't just. . . just do that!"
"I. . ." Lucas started, but he didn't know how to finish that sentence. What could he possibly say to make it better? He couldn't even register what went through his mind. Why he even kissed Alex. Kissed. That was so forgein on his lips. He didn't know what to make of it.
"I can't deal with this right now," Alex said and sighed heavily. "I have to think about about this. About what just happened. You should put your thoughts together too, Lucas. I-I'll see you later," and with that Alex left him standing there like a total idiot. There was so many "whys" running through his head. Some of them were "how". How could this happen, he thought, he makes me want to hold him tight and protect him. Why?
He didn't move for about ten minutes after Alex left him He was too paralyzed to. Lucas had no regret and he was glad he didn't. He was guilty however. It made him think about Celia and how he said those three words to her. I love you. He never really, truly, loved someone. Lucas didn't love Celia and he wondered if he should call her. Break it off with her, so she doesn't expect anything of him anymore. He doesn't even know if he'll be able to go home any time soon.
Lucas grew angry the more he thought about it. His fits clenched by his sides and he didn't even know what to do with them. He wanted to hit something or get drunk and hit something. Damn it, he didn't know what to do. The first movement he made was slamming his right fists into the wall making a dent in the process. Then he opened the door and slammed it right behind him to leave. He really didn't want to be there anymore.
