Y/n sat on her bed, her phone still glowing from the call with Be:First the night before. She felt lighter than she had in years, but the quiet of her room suddenly felt heavy again. The knock on the door made her heart skip.
"Asuka..." she whispered, barely audible.
Her sister stepped inside slowly, eyes full of hesitation and guilt. "Y/n... can we talk?"
Y/n didn't answer. She wrapped the blanket around herself tighter, unsure if she was ready.
"I know I hurt you," Asuka said softly. "I lied about Mom and Dad. I... I didn't know how to tell you the truth back then. But I've regretted it every day. I've missed you."
Y/n's chest tightened, and she looked down. She couldn't speak to her sister yet—not after so many years of silence—but she didn't pull away.
Her phone buzzed, lighting up with messages from her friends.
Minato (Chayney): "Y/n, breathe. We're here for you. Take your time."
Yuzu (INI): "You're not alone. We're cheering for you."
Ibuki (INI): "Even if you don't speak yet, we believe in you."
Shūhei (INI): "You're safe, Y/n. We've got your back."
Nayuta (INI): "Small steps are still victories. You can do this."
Sota (Be:First): "We're proud of you. Just being here is brave."
Manato (Be:First): "You don't need words yet. We see you."
Haruto (Treasure): "Every little move forward counts, Y/n."
Mashiho (Treasure): "You're doing great. Keep going."
The flood of encouragement made Y/n's chest feel warm. Even though she couldn't speak yet, she realized she wasn't alone—her friends, her boyfriend, her sister—all wanted to help her heal.
Asuka knelt beside her bed, careful and gentle. "I'll wait, Y/n. No matter how long it takes. I just... want to be here for you again."
Y/n swallowed hard, her hand twitching toward Asuka. Slowly, hesitantly, she lifted it. Her fingers brushed against Asuka's.
It wasn't words yet—but it was a start.
Asuka smiled softly, tears glistening. "That's enough for now. Just being here is enough."
Y/n felt a fragile spark of hope. Maybe, with her friends and family behind her, she could begin to speak again. Maybe she could start healing.
And for the first time in a long while, Y/n believed that the silence wouldn't last forever.
