Muhammed's POV:
"I'm just going to change her nappy. Ameena where did you put the bag?" I asked Ameena taking our baby out of the cot which Talha and Aysha had gifted to us. Ameena stood up and took the bag out for me following me into the next room.
"This is where it all began huh." She smiled looking around. We both started reminiscing the first meeting we ever had. We'd come a long way from there.
"I guess so. Remember how shy you were." I commented not keeping my eye off the baby.
"I could say the same about you." She chuckled. Once I had finished I rolled up the dirty nappy and left it in a carrier bag.
I held up the baby giving her a kiss. "She's absolutely beautiful Mash'allah." I grinned. Ameena came to the other side and kissed the baby's other cheek. Before I could say anything she took the bag. "After this you're going to sleep." I then said speaking more firmly.
"Absolutely we're going home now Ameena. You really need to sleep you won't realise now but its better for you and her the more sleep you get." Mum spoke before leaving me and Ameena alone with the baby.
We didn't really speak. I just shook my head and took her into a hug with the hand that wasn't holding the baby. I then kissed her on the forehead from which she released a slight tear.
"No crying. I'll visit you everyday." I muttered through the hug. She sniffed and smiled wiping the tear that had fallen. She then kissed me on the cheek before taking the baby from me.
"I'll miss you." She mummered. I nodded my head and said the same words back. We then left the room and went back to where everyone was sitting.
"How long does it take to change a nappy?" Rayhan chuckled taking the baby from Ameena's hand. She took the nappy bag from me and throgh it in the bin and stood next to me. We both stood there whilst everyone else was sitting. Yahya and Yu.. had woken up. Sara and Khalid had surrounded Rayhan and Maryam who had the baby.
"We were er..." I answered struggling with what to say.
"Saying goodbye." Musa Pa finished off the sentence.
"Muhammed.... come take a seat next to me." He sighed as Raeesa Ma got up leaving space for me to sit.
"I'm not saying that I've stopped being her father- I'm always going to be. Before the two of you got married she was my responsibility. The two of you are now in Nikaah (marriage/agreement) with one another. Now she's your responsibility. I promise you-we all will take care of them and look after them. What I am trying to say is don't worry really."
"How can I worry? They're in the hands of people we would trust with our lives." I answered taking the time out to look at Ameena who was smiling.
"Ja'zak'allah we want you here everyday though." Musa Pa then responded. Raeesa Ma also nodded her head as I stood up to leave.
"Muhammed- the hotel tomorrow. Don't worry about it." Rayhan spoke straight after. I walked towards him to take the baby in my arms before saying "Because Ameena and the baby are here and Talha and Aysha are home to keep mum company I'm going in tomorrow in'sha'allah if that's alright. But I'll be here first thing." I answered looking at Ameena when saying the last part.
"Seriously it's fine Muhammed you don't have to if you..." Rayhan then continued.
"Seriously I want to." I added. I think he was going to say something else but looked over to Musa Pa who nodded and smiled at me so didn't.
I kissed the baby and cradled her in my arms. "I'll guess I'll see you tomorrow. Salaamulaykum." I smiled at her. I read in a book its good to talk to babies at this age. Mum then started talking to Raeesa Ma and Maryam got talking to Aysha. Talha and Musa Pa were also deep in conversation. Sara and Khalid were talking to Rayhan.
