Rachel’s POV
“Hurry up, Erick! I have homework!” I reasoned. “No, I can’t get a ride and nor am I staying here for another 2 hours! Ugh, okay fine. Bye!” I angrily hanged up. Great, I would be staying here for the next two hours, alone. “Do you need a ride home, Rae?” Harry asked sweetly, making me remember that they were still there. It was funny how I met all of them individually, not even knowing that they were all in the same band. “Huh? Oh no, no. It’s fine. I’ll just wait for my brother.” I looked into his eyes, they were the perfect shade of green. “Well, he’s going to be late… and it isn’t good for a girl to be out here alone. I’ll just stay with you until then.” He suggested. Before I couldn’t even protest, the rest of guys came up to us. “WE WILL TOO!” They added. “But don’t you guys have to be home or something… you know accompanying your girlfriends?” I teased. “I’m not dating anybody!” They said in unison. Wow, did they really do this often, say things at the same time. “I’m guessing there is no way I can stop you guys?” I sighed. They all nodded their heads, and I was once again overcome by them. I walked over to the bench near by, and took a seat. Within seconds they all gather near me, making me chuckle a little. “Is this how you guys always treat a new student?” I joked, but they looked so serious. “No, you’re just different. Good Different.” Zayn reassured. I didn’t dwell on that statement, but it did make me feel special.
Twenty minutes had gone by, and I was even more irritated that Erick was late. But I wouldn’t dare tell the guys that, that would be so impolite. I felt a faint vibration coming from my bag, and I was about to leap in joy, thinking it was my brother. But I was completely wrong. My heart nearly drop when I saw it was a notification. Well, not just any notification, it was picture of Jake asking one of my best friends to homecoming. Words could not explain how betrayed I felt. I guess I couldn’t hold my tears back, because before I knew it droplets were pooling on my phone. “Rae?! Why are you crying? Did we do something wrong?” Louis panicked. But I couldn’t find the words to tell him I was fine. “Jake… he…” I sobbed harder. Gosh, I was being a totally drama queen right now. But I couldn’t stop myself, it was like a endless bucket of tears pouring out of my eyes. I felt an arm around me, a warm, comforting one. “It’s alright, love. Whatever he did, was probably a stupid move. You deserve someone better anyway!” Louis calmly said as Liam pulled me towards him. I didn’t back away, I just cried in his chest for awhile. Hands were rubbing my back, calming me down. I was glad they were around, or who knows what I would have done with myself.
After I finally settled down, I pulled away from Liam, and stared directly at my shoes. That was embarrassing, crying in front of them. “Sorry, I didn’t mean to cry all over you.” I sniffled, rubbing my eyes dry. “It’s alright, love! You’re free to cry on me anytime!” He replied cheerfully. A happy, soothing feeling tingled in body and I just smiled at them for being there for me.
“Alright, c’mon beautiful we’re taking you home and we’re not taking no for an answer!” Harry immediately got up, and I had no choice but to follow him to his car along with the others. I texted my brother telling him I found a ride and that I would just meet him back home. The guys let me in Harry’s car first, then each of them piled inside. Harry ignited the engine, and began to drive. It was a rather quiet ride home, only the sound of our breathing was audible. The sun was starting to set and the bright blue sky was slowly turning dark. It didn’t take long till we got to the gates of my neighborhood, then my drive way. “I’ll help you with your things!” They said in alliance. “No, you guys hav-” All five of them rushed out car before I could even object. I’ve never actually been treated this way with anyone, they were too sweet. “Do you guys want to come in?” I step out of the car to see each one of them carrying something of mine. “Well if it’s okay with you and your parents of course!” Liam implied. Liam was so polite, it was uncanny. “I’m sure it’s fine. My parents aren’t home yet anyway.” I chuckled, leading them through the front door. Just as I suspected, no one was here. “Such a big house, and no one is in it.” Zayn stated. “Well my parents are busy with work, and my brother is busy at university.” I explained. I gave them a quick tour before leading them to my room, considering the fact they wouldn’t let me carry my own stuff. “Sorry for the boxes everywhere, still haven’t unpacked most of my things.” I kicked a brown box out of my way and flick the light switch. Brown boxes were everywhere and the walls were just a pain shade of pink. “It’s fine we understand. So you miss America huh?” Louis asked, while they put down all my stuff. “Yeah, I do.” I sighed as I glanced at the picture of me and Jake on my desk. “Is that Jake?” Louis took the picture frame and examined it. “Yeah, he was my best friend before anything serious actually happened.” I flopped on the edge of my bed, staring at all them. “Well he must be mad, because no one in there right mind would break up with a beautiful girl like you!” Niall proclaimed, settling beside me. The others soon gather around me, it was like a domino effect. They must be so close, every time someone did something the others followed. I don’t know how long we stayed like that, but it was comforting to have friends like them. Friends who actually supported and cared for you. The silence was broken when the front door flew open, then slam shut. “Raeee! I’m home. You’re most amazing, and very sorry brother is home!” Erick screamed from the bottom of the stairs. His footsteps grew closer and closer. “I brought-” He stopped at the front of my door way, which caused all the guys to stand up. Oh gosh, this is definitely not going to end well.
